Share your summer set up thoughts, stories, pics, and techniques on building one.

I use astro turf and some kind of downhill whether its turf over dirt or a wooden ramp. Also orange construction fencing works really good if put over turf then you dont even have to wet the turf. And for rails, usually just PVC on some kind of wood with supports. Gotta keep the rail game tuned in some how.

for now i just have a tramp.
hockey rinks dont have snow anymore so i cant hit rails, im not allowed to have turf

made one finished last week with contruction fencing for landing a big plastic sheet and a sick pvc box

5th time hitting it i broke my wrist of course paremts now wont let be use it ever again so just spent my money for 5 times on it

i do live in canada. the rink thats a block from my house doesnt have snow because in the off season they're used for inline.
i know where theres snow all year round but theyre far away and i cant get my rails there.

my summer setup is aight, We used left over carpet, works good with soapy water. Shit is mad steep though

What's wrong with the plastic that's making you want to switch to pvc? I'm interested because I have plastic on my box now (didn't use it yet) and there's still time before winter to switch it out.

most rinks take there ice out in the summer for box lacrosse and inline but my friend has one construction fence drop in and a turf tranny and jump

Well, I put mine on in two seperate sheets (half and half) with a glue. The problem was that my ski kept getting under the second sheet when I would slide it and rip it off. But, it slides really nice so you should be good if you use nails or something similar.

Damn, I did the same but split it into 4 different pieces and I used some heavy duty liquid nails glue. When I walk across the gaps between each piece, it makes this crackling sound. Did that happen for you? I don't think my skis would get caught under since the plastic is all level with the next piece, but I don't know.

Mine always made crackling noises, it should be fine. I bet if you slid it fast, it wouldn't matter. How big are the gaps?

Gaps are literally less than 1/16" (just measured). It's hard to see so that should be a good sign.

for astro turf it helps if you keep a hose nearby instead of filling up buckets and puring them on it

got two double barrel rails, one long (15 feet) one short (like 8 feet) and an 8 foot flat box that's probably 6ish inches wide
