Salomon's are good. But you gotta crank 'em up or they will release.

Why dont you just buy a binding that works properly so you dont have to crank it up and risk blowing your knee out. Bindings release for a reason...

How about building up some leg strength, the extra 400 grams of weight shouldn't make that big a difference. If you're really so small that it does, buy salos, you probably aren't tough enough on your equipment to break them anyways. Besides, everything is exaggerated on here, and I seriously doubt the durability of salo bindings is any exception to that rule.

jd may, i haveplenty of strength and im a strong skiier. i simply would likesomething lighter because i use skis very big for meand want just a little less weight. and i didnt ask if salomons break, im asking if they prerelease.
whatever, i likemy p12's.

if you use big skis and you're strong, you'd hardly notice the difference between them anyways. I don't think salo has a real problem with prereleasing anyways, not like markers. But the p12 is a great binding, I wouldn't want anything but axial heels now, personally.

i have salomon bindings now but you have to make sure you move the din like 2-3 up of what you regurally use. But overall they're workin out for m.

what kind of boots do you have not all boots wil fit salomon bindings, also what kind of skis do you have? they might not fit those either, also your ploes and googles might not be binding compatable, and last but not least your anal cavity might not meet the depth requirements for overshot backseat landings. you have to take all of this into account, not just the weight.

I have the p12s and I like them. I havent had a problem with the pre-release because I keep mine at around 9, and I weigh about 145. They have been hyped up about prerelease but they really arent that bad. Good binding if you ask me.

^What are you talking about? The hype about p12s is that they DON'T prerelease, pretty much ever. And if my scratch and power bindings are any indication, the hype is pretty much dead on here.

I have a pair of the salomon s912's, there alright, but yea you do have to crank them up a lot, cuz i'm only 5'9 140 lbs I would relsease a lot when the din was at 7-8

you dont have to crank any binding above your recommended DIN unless its not set right. as long as a salomon toe peice and forward pressure are set right, you dont have to crank it at all and they work great

This is true for what most people do...however, park skiing, dropping cliffs and more aggro skiing present problems that were not really considered as much when the binding was designed. This type of skiing is very difficult to design for, there are so many variables. I havent skied the 912 (doubt its much of an improvement) but the 810 WILL NOT accommodate a 150lb person skiing aggressively.

salomon bindings arent that bad. they do prerelease sometimes but its better than not releasing. You just have to turn up the din like 2-3 up

if you way 140 to 150 you should be setting your bindings at at least 9 if you are skiing aggresively. i weigh just under 150 and have the s810 TI at 91/4 and they hardly release. if you have the s912 and have them at 9 tehn you should be perfectly fine because you have them set closer to the middle of the range of the binding DIN. thsi makes the binding stronger and hodl up better. i like salomons cause they are light and they are the best bindings for hiking with cause you can just hook your finger under the toe piece rather than haveing to grab the whole ski, and thats the most important thing of course.

no the jibs aren't lighter and the P12's don't have a riser thing, the only difference between the jib and P12 are the graphics and the jib has a small sheet of rubber underneath, and the jibs cost more.
Salomon bindings are terrible, I've skied them before and I hated them.
