Windows 8.

So I was going to post this in the NSG Unthreadworthy Thread that's a repost and is rather unthreadworthy, but I decided against it because I think it's better to focus the incoming flame war into one thread. Now watch this video and look at this man's silly haircut.



So basically over the next year or two Microsoft is going to be documenting the building process of Windows 8. This seems like a good idea, but to me it doesn't look that great. I'm not really understanding how Windows 7 and Windows 8 are going to be integrated, because they look pretty much the same. It also looks like Windows 8 is going to be very orientated on touch, tablet, and slate devices, which looks stupid. I think that it would suck to use touch for a PC. The start menu looks stupid as fuck, and the apps idea is stupid. That's just me though. Discuss.

i use mac osx and windows 7 every day and i much prefer windows. the os, in my opinion, is much faster, more customizable and tailorable to the user's wants, and smoother. i know many newschoolers prefer macs but after using a macbook pro and a samsung rv511, the rv511 kicks the mac's ass in speed and performance.

This is more the tablet/all-in-one pc portion of the operating system.

It will run just like windows 7 currently does as it runs off similar structure/program architecture. Granted every other windows os sucks, im curious to see how this one will work in the corporate world when its time to upgrade since the 2 internships ive done dont utilize any of this technology.

not the new macbooks pros, but compared to the core2 duo's in the last few models id say they are on par. It comes down to how the i3 threading gets utilized and windows currently supports it much better than unix based operating systems.

And when you think about it, windows always seems Windows makes a winner then a fail.

Windows 98 - Win.
Windows 2000/ME - Fail.
Windows XP - Win.
Windows Vista - Fail.
Windows 7 - Win.
Windows 8 - Fail?

win 95? really just google the massive amount of issues with the fundamental parts of the operating system.

Xp was their most reliable and 7 is based off alot of what they did right.

3.x was just well revolutionary

Well I haven't had any issues with windows 95 personally. It was pretty good in my opinion.

looks a lot like WP7 combined with Zune. looks cool for a tablet or a smartphone but having a UI based around touch controls is not going to work well for laptops and desktop computers.

looks interesting but i would much prefer to use a keyboard and mouse.

I am glad I just ordered a win 7 PC. If this is the direction they follow I don't see myself going windows any more. I don't want everything so integrated with microsoft products.
