Replying to Worst books of all time

This is for my AP US History final paper. A section of the prompt is to write about the best and worst American books/ assorted readings (pamphlets etc.) of all time.

Anyway, I dont really have any Idea what the WORST book is and this is the only forum im a member of so im just going to ask here. I googled this but all the "worst books" lists mostly deal with un-important books like twilight and stuff.

To be the "worst book" it has to have some sort of negative influence on the American people. American author is definitely preferred.
