alright so i am purchasing some fulltilt booters (blue and yellow ones from a year or two ago) from a friend of mine. They come with a flex 2 tongue, which is pretty damn soft. i was wondering if im used to a medium-stiff boot would i be okay to ski with the flex 2 tongues for preseason? I just dont know how much a difference it will make or if i will risk an injury or something. basically just until christmass when i can get some stiffer tongues.
they will prob feel less responsive for general skiing but amazing in the park for butters and tweaking the shit out of grabs lol....i agree just ski them!! Just avoid real big heavy landings as you will have less support
Preseason they're going to feel softer because with the warmer temperatures the boot will soften up. I don't think you'll really be taking on any risk of injury though. This spring my 6 flex tongues felt really soft but I also ride really stiff skis which might be part of that. A lot of people like them, but if you don't I'm sure they will last you until christmas.
personally, I'd say try them for a little bit. If you really love them, then keep them, but I'd also reccommend getting another set of tongues that are a bit stiffer, say, an 8. They'll be a lot more responsive and high performance. I have hot doggers, and I really like the stiffer tongues I put in them.
