i live in toronto, and have a loaded dervish with randal r-II trucks, rush abec 5 bearings, and original skateboard wheels. im getting either otang durians or stims this weekend so i can slide better. i like to carve and just go fast, even though tdot isnt a very hilly city we have a few valleys so i make do with what i can. tell me about your longboard life, im just really bored and kind of interested
the banghra is kind of a hybrid between the tan tien and their old dancer. my friend has one and its a pretty fun board, but its kind of limited in what it can do
A friend of mine had a Z-Flex that he absolutely loved. Rode it everywhere through the rainy vancouver winter, deck held up amazingly well. Finally broke when a bus ran over it lol.
You're an idiot. Loaded boards are mediocre. The Killswitch is arguably one of the best decks on the market right now, if not the best. Of course that's a preference thing though. I also don't own one, I skate a drop speed but yearn for a killswitch. Apart from that, Rayne boards are made by hand in my home town of Vancouver unlike landy's boards that are pressed in China; and I wouldn't doubt if loaded did the same as they both mass produce.
Have had my landyachtz switch 37 for about 3 weeks now, its so amazing i love it, slides like a dream, and can still bomb with no hint of the wobbles. Definitely my favorite board ever, highly recommended.
Custom fully carbon foam core board with 'W' concave in the back only.
set up with maguns and plasma o's you can not beat me on this board.
just broke 148km on this. AND i also won maryhill juniors twice, 2nd at danger bay, and 1st at vernon DH, (in juniors haha) all on this board.
NEXT is my pusher set up for long distances
Rayne dee-lite demonseed with kookys. The lowest to the ground you'll ever get on a board.
My bowl, fun setup is my loaded ceviche. Adam C gave this to me as a birthday present and i've really been likin it.
set up with paris 150's and some fatfrees this thing rips
Next is my mellow freeride board. Its a Rayne Isis proto that Brianne Davies gave me for beating her time at mary, hellcat graphic on bottom and dee-lite avenger on top.
set up with paris 180's and stimulus.
My slider. Rayne caty with indy 169's and e-wing slide a's. pretty fun board.
Now this board is my freeride board. I love this board and my current standy record is 86ft so hopefully i'll break that soon.
K-rimes killswitch that i bought off him at mary with custom bear grizzlys that landy made for Mike McGoldrich. With some old otang 4prez this board rips.
My second downhill board is a custom 42 topmount with painted randals and otang 4prez. Because its so high off the ground its hard to footbrake on so i had them do the foot cut outs. The foot stop on this board is for windy roads. this board turns like a god.
Last but not least, my dancer. This board is a blast. adam c paris 190's with some siesmic wheels tihs board rocks.
My current sponsors are,
Switch back longboards
Randal trucks
Loaded longboards
Venom bushings.
Does it really matter where a board is pressed? And handmade doesn't really mean anything, you can't press a board with your hands, and if they cut it by hand and not by CNC, which I assume the larger companies do, there's always the possibility of the board not being completely symmetrical.
im looking for a little cruizer up to $150, im getting it as a gift and they dont want to spend more, right now im looking at a sector 9 that i can get for pretty cheap with upgraded trucks wheels bearings but i wanna know what else i have the option of getting cause im not real into sector 9 just seems like the best i can get for that much
This thing is fucking awesome. it may not be the most agile board out there (lol) but its a tank. It bombs like a motherfucker and is so stable for dancing around and just cruising. i've been getting decently good at dancing, its super fun. I love this board.
Never Summer Descent
Paris 180s-Venom 83a Standard bushings
Reds
Otang In heats-orange
This board rips. Its SUPER flexy, can get a little unstable at times, but its really good for sliding and carving, especially with the bushings i got. i really recommend the venom bushings, its like getting new trucks for $6. But anyways, i love this board. I probably ride it like 5 miles in the summertime everyday, its really durable. Its got a ski topsheet on the bottom to protect it and p-tex tips to protect it from ramming into stuff. Super fun, good all-around durable board.
rayne vendetta and i fucking love it. live in upstate NY plenty of hills to find me and my bros are always seshin anything that catches our eye. greatest summer investment was the longboard.
Dervish is a good board but not really ment for sliding, it can be done but you want a stiffer board, with nice concave for sliding. I wouldnt go a full drop like the landyactz evo either. I would say get a board like the rayne demon speed, drop through with 1" drop, or the landyactz nine two five, drop through slight rocker.
