I love Honda

I love NA built motors. I love ITBs. I love Type R's because they said "fuck comfort, lets make a circuit car for the street". I love how perfectly engineered the DOHC motors are. I love that my 6 speed transmission is geared not for "cruising comfort" but rather for WOT and keeping the car in VTEC at all times. Hate if you like.

Personally I don't really like Hondas. Just not my style I guess the overwhelming amount of riced out civics that I see rollin around with giant aluminum wings and mismatched spinning hubcaps just ruin them for me. On the other hand my friend does have an absolutely nutty Del Sol that he built. Just over 500 horse to the wheels, and weighs about 1800 lbs. The power to weight ratio is ridiculous. Not sure what his quarter mile time is but I think I remember him saying he runs in the low 9s. Car is absolutely terrifying to drive though, SOOO much torque steer

The only Honda I would want to own would be an NSX. Those are pretty badass cars.

im sure you have driven a type r. Oh wait, your 19 and have driven sweet fuck all most likely. I have owned 2 german cars prior to my Honda so I have been on both sides of the fence. You can hate on honda all you like but you better know what the fuck youre talking about or ill rip you apart and make you look like a fool. Now, fuck off.

any car with 500 hp and a low weight of sub 2000 is going to have some steering issues under acceleration, torque steer is more controlable than oversteer IMO but im not a huge drag race fan. A well built honda will have very little torque steering if it has a solid LSD, like my car :).

alright chill dont make this a gay internet fight to try and act tough in front of a bunch kids, i can say ive driven multiple civic si's, rsx type s's, gsr's, prelude si's, yeah fast cars, but ive also driven german sports cars that could beat the shit out of that rice bull shit, 2.7 a6's can walk all over any of the previously named cars, sure you can drop 2000 dollars into upgrades on your shitty ass jap shit, spend 500 bucks on just software upgrades on somethin german and itll keep up with a some gay turbo'ed civic, dont even try and say audi/bmw/merc cant compare to hondas

thats great, but the base msrp of a a6 2.7t was over 40k, in that range you could have snagged an s2000 and that beats the a6 in speed and handling. If you optioned up your a6, youre getting close to nsx price range, and the nsx would smash an a6. Not to mention 2.7t motors are glass cannons, the turbos are junk and every single one i have worked on is a disaster. Dont get me wrong, Audi is nice... ive owned 2 audis in my life already and I am sure i will own a few more in my lifetime but if you arent ready to turn wrenches yourself or have deep pockets, they are not a viable option. German cars are a fair amount more money to maintain and purchase modified parts for, so really if you want to drive a german car you will end up skimping out unless you have deep pockets. Ive driven 90 percent of the audi/vw/ porsche motors in recent history so you dont have to tell me "How they feel". I dont want my honda to be a drag racing monster, I just want subtle JDM parts and some nice tasteful engine mods. Riced out hondas are scum, but there is equal amounts of riced out vw's/ e30/36 bimmers out there, or worse yet... riced out j body cavaliers and sunfires.

I dont really mind. Ive had all there drivetrains and dont really prefer one to another. They all have perks and downfalls. FWD has hardly any power loss in drivetrain so most power in the motor is put down to the wheels so its a very good options for smaller 4 cylinder motors like honda. There is some draw back in the form of "drag racing" to fwd, but in a daily driver Its hard to imagine a downfall of FWD since its more fuel viable, and can put power to the wheels with the least amount of drivetrain loss.

I can understand how people dislike FWD though, so its all good. Different strokes.

i used to drive a civic...brand new 08. Top of the line non SI tho. All i can say is how awful the car was. So over priced for the rediculously low power the car carries. I would never purchase a honda in my life ever. The people who like these riced out cars tend to be fucking tools who cant buy a nicer car. At the end of the day if your honda can do a 9 second quarter, who gives a fuck at all because its still a shitty fucken riced out honda.

trucks arent fast man, my 72 chevy with a 400+ horse small block only runs 16s in the quarter

your jeep has what, maayyybeee 200 hp... hondas are pretty gay but they can be reasonably fast.
id still prefer a rwd car with some class though

I love how most people who make the comment about the 9 sec quarter have never even owned or driven a car close to being capable to a 9 sec 1/4- drag racing is the worst example to pick- where many a honda has been known to whoop up on other cars


the sheer amount of ignorance and lack of knowledge in this thread is lol worthy- any car guy will respect someone else's work and time invested- any car that can squeeze 500+ from a 4 banger is worthy in my book

I dont hate hondas- I hate rice- which seems to be mostly neons and cavaliers these days

this ITR has 13.1 compression, thats fucking insane. According to the description on this video, the dyno pull was for the break in tune for the car and it still pulled around 230 whp.

FWD is the reason I'm not a fan of Hondas etc. I can see why people would prefer it, but in my opinion it's not as fun to drive as RWD or AWD/4WD car.

wish i had a 2nd car so i could mod my csx. Its a canada market only civic that the fd2 type r was based off. Its got CTR body basically sans bumper covers and side skirts and a slightly different intake manifold. Id love to get TODA sport injection kit for my car but its so fucking expensive, i think its 3.5k for the kit with no hardware. TODA is the only company that makes a ITB kit for the newer k20's with DBW so it may just be a pipe dream. Maybe ill buck up and save my cash for a nsx/s2000 for a 2nd car to modify. Besides, ive still got warranty on the CSX for now. Im about 15 days away from pulling the trigger on some te37s for it though, or a used Hondata pro.

FWD isnt as fun to drive at times, for sure but around a road course its not uncommon to see a ITR in stock form destroy some much higher horsepower AWD/RWD cars. Ive seen a best motoring vid of them testing a nsx type R vs a dc2 type R around a smaller circuit and the dc2 takes the win. What i find funny about AWD is that it has pretty much the same characteristics of FWD yet hardly anyone complains about how "fun" it is to drive. Its all personal when it comes to the FWD versus argument.

I've got a GTI, and while I've hardly done anything to the car, I'm not an absolute noob at all. I much prefer the low-rev 2.0t, better gas mpg but there are certainly advantages of the v-tec. All I'd have to drop is ~600 for an ecu mod and the car would be at ~270 at the wheels.

This video is kinda BS because the honda driver fucking blows, but I'll just leave this here
