Why can't I land a cork 7, video included

alright, so today i went to a local gym for there open sesh and decided i'd start to dabble in off axis tricks. i've set a goal for myself to start doing corks next season, as i feel it will take my skiing to an exponentially higher level. i've never really done off axis tricks before, so i'm kinda just tossing myself around in the video. i'd like some pointers on how to properly set corks or an explanation as to why i'm not sticking them.
also, i'd like to know what the last two tricks are haha, i don't really know what i'm doing.



PS. i apologize for the dubstep. i didn't want to use the sound from the video and just put my Itunes library on shuffle and chose the first song.

im no expert...  but looks to me like you are "just spinning" then falling over in the air... i would tell you to generate the spin off axis, or, to spin off axis relative to your spine in a neutral position!0! Toss it corked minga. apologizing for dubstep is counter revolutionary. get inverted on one hand.

the real question is why are you throwing that pad? you are like 2 feet off of the ground, also, if no one has said it yet, set your spin with both feet, it looks like you are setting more with your right foot and drifting left

the song was timestretch by bassnectar i believe.

the gym is gigueres in cherry valley, MA

tonight i'm going to sterling gymnastics. they offer a freerunning class but my brother and i go to it and they pretty much just let us jump on the tramps.

thats more of a shitty 7 than anything.
what i did to learn corks was lead with my head. threw the spin with my head first, then let my legs follow. but remember when you go to land, you gotta bring your legs back around.
its basically a 180 to bio 5, but the 180 sets you into position.

if u can misty its not hard to cork. start a spin and when you get to 180 throw a misty which would set you into a cork....from there its all about spinning faster so basically practice and keep moving your head

first off, you're just hucking yourself like a crazy motherfucker.

start off doing a bunch of 360-to-back drop-to-360's. just to get the feel for the proper trick.

for the real thing:
you want to make sure that you jump up first, setting with a T but try to open your chest up to the ceiling, at 180 you should be spotting the trampoline bed (at the apex of the jump). from there, bring your body into the tuck and the trick will come around

seems to me like you would land it if you didnt drift.just be more patient on takeoff, cause right now your going quick, and its making you drift. if you be more patient you wont drift, which should make you land it.

youll get it man, when i started learning corks i just got them everytime, but thats because all of my friends were throwing them and they all taught me... just keep practicing and youll get erm! good luck bro

i was just messing with you, but for reals, the one you landed you didnt drift toward the sides of the tramp, just pop equally with each foot/leg

i had the same problem for the longest time..i learned cork 7s by just looking at my left heel if i was spinning right or right heel spinning left and at about cork 3 or 5 i bring my legs to my chest and land it and the more you look at your heel the more off-axis your spin is

i'm def not. its just alot different on skis i think if you wanna land a cork 7 on skis your should try on skis not on a tramp

i wasn't comfortable with doing them this winter, and i'd rather gain some air awareness and work on my control before i start throwing risky tricks.

i live in the suburbs of massachusetts and ski in NH and VT, pow to us is 4 fresh inches BRO. i don't have the same access to backcountry that you might.

So ignoring all this complicated advice: The way I learned was by dropping on my back. You gotta understand its a backwards rotation. Fall on your back. Then do a 360 with a backdrop. 360 to your back. Once you can land straight (with your feet in the same direction you started), on your back with said 360 (and are really comfy with it), take it a little higher and huck it a little harder.

Basically, heres the dig. As many mentioned above you're drifting which makes landing tricks even harder. Wait just a half a second longer before hucking that mother fucker. Pop, then set the spin, and then try to time it so that you land almost eating shit onto your face. That sounds goofy but it just may help you. The main key is setting that shit a little later. Cork 7's you should almost feel like you're going to frontflip/frontroll when you land.

It looks fine, I think you just need to take it to the snow. The first one looked just fine, it just looked like you needed a little more time in the air, and the second (stopped watching after that) looked like you were just trying to rotate too hard. I think that if you take it to the snow, you'll have a little more time in the air, and you'll be able to open your legs up towards the end of the rotation for the first few tries, after which, you'll start to get an overall feeling for the full rotation, before you start stomping them clean.

you are taking them to your feet well, you just fall over. keep trying em and once you get more comfortable with the rotation, you will start sticking them no sweat. no need to overthink it
