switch backside... bahahaha. are you fucking serious? switch backside doesn't work in skiing because you're not on a singular board going sideways down the mountain, you jackass. you might as well grab safety and call it mute if you tweak your knees sideways. you might have liked skiing for a while, but you certainly don't know shit about it.
i find it kinda hideous when people do that. reminds me of people pushing mongo, sure they can do the trick but everything leading up to it looks like garbage.
...are you kidding me... when spinning on a snowboard you can spin frontside or backside because if you spin one way, you immediately lose sight of the landing..same reason you can spin frontside or backside off a rail on skis.. has nothing to do with "a singular board" haha..
so if you are hitting a jump switch on skis, and for one reason or another you look one way and then spin the other, youre technically spinning switch..and backside.. once again this is a stupid discussion because it's weird and not really a trick or generally considered a good thing, so arguing over trick names is even dumber than normal.. i just think blender is analogous to saying "hexo flip" and other stupid names. anyway let's move on..
RubberSoul, Blender is not the name of a trick, as you seem to believe. it's a term for a wack move that people do when they can't look over a certain shoulder! it's not cool! the reason candide "used to do it" is before he could properly and comfortably look over the correct shoulder. and the same reason Chug does it, unless he's joking, but i wouldn't know.
no i know.. we're simply quibbling over what to call it, i said ive never heard blender and it's stupid, and then one or two other guys said theyve never heard sw bs and that it's stupid. not a big deal, we agree it looks pretty dumb most the time anyway. i just think names like blender are silly
are you as dumb in real life as you portray yourself to be on the internet? first off, there is not a fs or bs in skiing, period. dont try to make something out of nothing, its just not possible. ITS THE FUCKING STANCE.
you're saying that names like blender are silly? thats what the fuck its called and what it has been called since people started doing it. the kid that was trying to make a point about rodeos and bios is completely right.. why the fuck is it called a rodeo? or a bio? thats the fucking name they gave it when it was first started being thrown. If anything, blender makes way more sence then fucking rodeo.. your head spins an extra 180 before you leave the ground.. what do blenders do? spin. i never new that when a skier does a rode 7 it means that they fucking rode a bucking bull for 7 seconds.
stop being so god damn stuck up and just accept the fact that you didnt know something about the sport that you so dearly care about.
haha are you as much of an angry try hard in real life as on here? man i dont remember what i said to piss you off so much a while ago but ever since you've jumped at any little stupid chance to bitch and moan like a little kid
and there is a frontside and backside in skiing, on rails like i said earlier..if you're spinning immediately away from what side youre looking on.. so it's not a completely new concept really
finally, i'll say it once more.. i just think extra names like that (besides maybe kfed) are silly. i'll also say again let's end this argument cause it's an even dumber than normal trick argument considering it's not even really a trick
and the rodeo analogy doesnt make sense, cause rodeos arent some red-headed stepchild non-trick, rodeos are a definite type of spin that have been around since before ns skiing. analyzing the names of the trick like a dork doesnt have any relevance here.. if i wanted i could explain to you why saying "temporary tornado" makes sense as a name but it doesnt make it any less stupid of a name
now for the 8th time, relax everyone, we were arguing over a silly "trick" name, i'm so fucking sorry lol
ITS NOT AN EXTRA NAME. THATS WHAT ITS BEEN CALLED FOR OVER 10 YEARS.
and were not talking about off of a rail here bud... (even in that case, i consider it front and blind). when you're coming on to a rail, there is no front or backside like you would have on a snowboard, and same when you approach a jump. so i dont understand how you can apply front and back to a switch spin, no matter what way you are looking. when a snowboarder comes into a jump front or back, its not like they go completely blind BEFORE the take off, its a gauge on which way their body is facing in comparison to the landing.
and angry isnt the right word there. i just have a general displeasure with stupid people, like yourself.
me: (rail example) -> fs and bs not a new CONCEPT in skiing. thanks for explaining that there's no fs or bs getting on a rail
"so i dont understand how you can apply fs and bs to a switch spin" ...ive explained it many times very clearly dude, that's fine if you don't agree, but i really don't see how i can dumb it down another shade... when going switch you have to choose a side for your head.. and if youre spinning once you hit that jump, youre either going in a way that is immediately blind, or not. that is why SOME people have called it switch backside. apparently other people have called it a blender. we disagree which one should be used. we argued. discussion over. holy christ
out of curiosity, why is blender a silly name, while kfed is not? they're both non-skiing words or phrases describing a ski trick or action. it just seems like youre making a big stink over this because youve never heard of the blender before while a lot of other people have.
It's been a while, but wasn't that called "phantom", when you're approaching switch looking over one shoulder, then spin the opposite way. maybe i'm wrong, but i agree- it looks sick
i dont think i can offer a good reason for why i accept kfed (/super fed/mega fed) more than others.. i just think randomly-coined names for things that can be named with already established descriptors are dumb, but k-feds are just so fun/easy/popular/ubiquitous and it's a good name so i use it. youre right it's an inconsistency
my first post about blender was somewhat provoking but ever since i dont think ive been looking to make a stink at all.. to be honest i can't believe no one's chimed in backing what ive said, i remember this being discussed so much on here back in the day (probably usually about candide)
you are a FUCKING idiot. please tell me what the "already established descriptor" was before blending? you and your lil ass clown friends are the ones assigning random and non-sense names... not the other way around... BS and FS for describing a skier spinning off a jump is RETARDED and you make yourself sound dumb as shit. skiing is not snowboarding so stop trying to use terms interchangeably.
lol not this little guy again.. everything's been discussed bud, read my posts to answer your stupid question and look at the link i posted of chug's thread from 02 about it, there are tons more from back then. both names have been used, discussion over
if you cant look over both shoulders while you spin switch then you practice that shit. blender to me has always been one of those terms that means you're doing something wrong. why would you ever spin switch "backside"(even though that doesn't exist) if you could just spin switch looking over the correct shoulder. because you don't if you can.
i thought blender was a universal term for skiing.
TJ Burke got 4 10s to win the Annual Powder 8's, unfortunately his friend Dexter Rutecki passed away in a training accident the year before and was not there to celebrate. RIP 'Dex'
ugh dude honestly stoppp, you can go to page 1 and see i was already saying it's a dumb argument, we disagree, we both showed that both names have been used and offered reasoning, and i posted that thread of chug's from 02, of which there are many more. great. DONE. pretty funny how the only people trying to get pissed at me for this shit still are people who have little internet grudges with me, you guys are such fucking homos
I miss derek... and rage. I know a lot of people didn't like it but I loved Pretty Good. I hope D.Spong will return to skiing one day, along with Rage.
