Just goes to show Obama has no real ideas of his own. He is a product of what dumb Americans want him to be, with no clear vision for the American future. It's a very scary situation when you have such a spineless leader in power during times like these. To be clear - my opinion comes from a uni education and continual research / reading - not the tea party, my parents, or popular media.

FACTS in my post: Obama was agaisnt raising the debt ceiling when he was not president. Obama is for raising the debt ceiling now that he is president. i thought that was easy to understand?

No, he's been watching faux news, so he thinks that the evil Dems are trying to burn us all alive, and that the debt ceiling- which has never ever been voted down- is a tool the Repubs should be using to push their agenda, which it's not.  On top of all that, he thinks that the R side of things are heroes for creating this new area for governmental drama to live, which is pretty typical of someone who doesn't understand what they're talking about but listens to Fox news to find out what they're supposed to hate people for today.   

I just wish the Democrats were half as good at whipping people up into frenzies with misinformation as the republicans are, as it would make for far more interesting arguments.  Little kids like this douche lose their minds like twice a week because Hannity or Rush told him so and it cracks me up.

theline's quote above is a perfect example of how simple the debt ceiling is and just how far overblown of an issue the republicans have made it- and actually have people passionately believing it.  I agree that the spending is out of control, but this is the WORST way to go about fixing it.  I also love how they are acting like Obama made the Middle East conflicts, Medicare and Medicaid the monsters they are today...  Lol...  I mean, how little attention can you possibly be paying??? 

In the end, I have to laugh at the OP.  It's just such a rediculous argument, one has to wonder if he will ever question what Fox news tells him.  Probably not.  Regardless, it is good for a laugh.

It could be fixed by reducing spending and making everyone (no matter how rich and entitled) pay the same taxes, which I'm all for- but it can't happen overnight or with R's screaming that they'll never budge either.  It's going to take compromise on both sides, when will we get that?.  OMG let's all freak out.  Reform attempts shouldn't be bullied in by republicans grasping desperately at the last straw they hold control over- by threatening to not raise the debt ceiling, they're essentially holding a gun to their own head, saying "Do what I want or I'll fucking do it!"

Educated people understand that by voting down the ceiling increase without reforming spending and taxes first will basically be defaulting on ALL of our loans.  You can count on a HUGE jump in the interest rate, the dollar would eat shit and we would really be fucked in the global markets and several other countries that we borrow from would get hurt as well.  So seriously, OP has it backwards and it's rediculous how angry he is in the belief of his misconceptions as well.  Sure, the country is in a shitty economic situation, but if they vote to NOT raise the debt ceiling without first reforming our tax and expenditure situations, WE ARE FUCKED.  Not in ten years, RIGHT NOW- when our military is stretched as far as it can be and our political system is dividing people instead of uniting them.  What is really so complicated about understanding that??? 

His emotional rants just go to show though, how while republican tax policy caters to the superwealthy, their tactics shamelessly exploit the emotions and spiritual convictions of the average man and woman into believing their allegiance is "just" in some way- while providing little to no fact, just misconception and heated inflation of miniscule individual and smetimes odd issues, and it's a shame because they make some great points.  It cracks me up though when middle class people think not taxing rich people equally will benefit them somehow...  LOL...  Just look at how much OP HATES Obama tho if you want to know what a well thought-out public relations campaign can do to influence the opinions of a young sponge.  See OP, what you're proposing is economical catastrophe, so NO, I don't hope they vote down the increase.  To do so would be to truly hate my country- enough to want to watch it burn right here and now, and it's sad that the republican PR machine has actually convinced retards it would be a good idea, or it's the only way.  BS.  It's posturing.  They won't do it because it would be suicide and then everybody's fucked, it's a ploy to grab at some power.  Grow up and see it for what it is and stop being an overemotional puppet.
