Summer Sucks

Its that time of year we all dread.....summer. I was wondering what the fine people of newschoolers do to pass the long 6 months till ski season. Personally I jack off....alot.

I used to feel exactly the same way you did about summer, but as I get older I appreciate summer more an more. I guess it's because high school gets harder every year and the summer is kind of a time of relief from the stresses of school.

Things to do:
Mountain Bike
Swim and hit the diving boards
Tramp sessions
Play guitar
Hang out with friends
enjoy BBQ

Man summer isn't actually half bad

We hiked up to the remains of the terrain park last night. Spent about 2 hours building a kicker, then sessioned that bitch till 10. Skied down in the dark with just my friends head lamp to illuminate the snow. Good times in the summer.

Mammoth is still good.  I was up last weekend, and will probably go next weekend.  I might get one more trip.

Other than that, work and surf.  Orange County gets great surf, and as much as I love ski season, driving to Mammoth 3 weekends a month does wear on me.  A year like this one, where I got lots of Baldy days when I did not hit Mammoth, is really fun.  I am ready to be surfing though.  Orange County gets hit by southwest swells all summer.

I should add that I do feel bad for people that have not skied in a while.  For those with seasons that end in late March/early April.....I remember living on the east coast.  In California, March is more like mid-season than lat season.

I thought summer sucked last year, only because I went skiing half as much as I wanted to. This year (as in this past season) was the first time I owned a season pass. I skied springhill until I was sick of it and logged a new record of what I estimate was 50ish days.

While I still love skiing and long for the trip where I ski a real mountain instead of a floodway ditch, I have no strong urges to put on my gear and go ski. I'll pass the time by doing a lot of Parkour, make myself a new sweater for the next season (hopefully taller and baggier than my first), go bike a bit, go fishing which I never get to do, get a job so I can make money and mot feel like I'm on a tight financial leash, construct dual hidden blades, and go drink with friends (Thank you Manitoba for having the drinking age at 18!).

I spent all the money I saved over winter and blew it on flights to the southern hemisphere so I can stay on snow!

Personally, I think the seasons are perfect as they are. I love all of them and they all hold so many possibilities. Trying to pick one season is absurd when you can have them all.

yeah i know that, but no skier from america would ever bother comuing to australia to ski, as the conditions here are obviosuly no where near as good as urs an more expensive aha

yeah I hate winter... All I do is drumline stuff and skiing occasionally. The weather sucks and I cant bike.

Summer means bike trips out into the mountains, teaching drumlines, and wearing flip flops at the beach. I LOVE IT!!!!

Travel between hemispheres chasing snow. Pretty easy to get into if you have a bit of brain and can do any job. Im off to New Zealand in 20 days for full season first day till last.

Summer is awesome you just have to get out their and get something you love just as much as skiing. Plus you're not at school so why complain? ... unless you have started your career.

Now Fall on the other hand sucks, it's to cold to really do anything summer like and it's not snowing.
