does anybody else think that epicathic eye folds (basicly asian eyes) are apparent in other peoples throughout the world? The conventional wisdom is that this feature evolved in mongolia as an adaptive response to the sand and dust and harsh environment present there.

But to me it seems that some people from central and eastern europe (fast forward to 3 minutes in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTuO877VPOg&feature=related )  also have this sort of morphological feature. If you watch the actress in the video, (she is really hot so watch it), but you will see what i mean about what im saying how epicanthic fold is not exclusive to pacific rim peoples.

But anyways i thought that was interesting

Look at the people in the Amazon, still being discovered this day - they also sport smaller eyes and deeper grooves which can't be explained by any sandstorms.

dude the amazon peoples came from the first bering straight migration many tens of thousands of years ago. Their epicanthics are of obvious origin just like native americans. Are you stupid?
