Full tilt hot dogger rip off?

Hey guy i got some brand new FT Twall hot doggers for camp and decided i would take the liners out to move the buckle back, just to find out my left boot has no active shock absorber foot bed. i attached a pic below. what should i do i contacted FT yesterday and was told i was lying which made me freak out and get pissed off about it. i contacted the store i got it from and they said to contact full tilt. right now i am extremely pissed off at FT as a company and not willing to give me the part they clearly forgot to put in the boot and i have no clue how you forget that, what i should pursue from here?

I feel like that is just as much your shops fault as it is full tilts. Because, how could they sell a product worth that much money without checking it

true, but i feel like full tilt should respect the fact that they sent out boots with no boot board and send me the replacement

Where did you buy them from ?

If it's from a store, get back there and they should call FT about that. Company rarely deal with a customer, they usually deal with shops.

one of those situations where you need to make sure you don't get strong armed, walk in there with your receipt etc and just say politely but firmly that it's pretty clear that you've paid for a certain product and you haven't received what youre supposed to have, simple as that. if the shop tells you that you need to call full tilt tell them you already tried and that at the very least you would like for them to call with you

it sounds like you havent used them yet, so cant you just take them back and get some with heel cushions or whatever they didnt have that they should have

t-wall has built in rubber in his left foot, this is standard on all hot-doggers.

I have a theory. I think OP took out the active boot board to check something out and broke it in some way and is now blaming FT and the shop from which he bought it.

Not hating, just speculating...

how could you have possibly been fitted properly without this being noted by the sales donkey? take em back to the store and have them give you a new pair with all the pieces.

this is most likely your shop's fault, not FT. Shops pull out liners all of the time and they probably took out the boot board to show a customer and didn't put it back. Plus, didn't the shop do a shell fit? They would have seen this immediately...

I have to agree, if a store did a shell fit they or you should have seen or felt a difference, so they probably didn't do one. I would go there and talk to the owner directly - in a nice way of course and explain your situation as you are to us.

i didnt put them on i already owned 28.5 ft hot doggers from a few years back and just wanted to upgrade, because mine were thrashed

yeah so go talk to the store owner about it, either he will be able to find it (it probably got lost in the store or something) or he will help you our to get a new one.

I don't get it. Take you receipt, go to the shop, and don't leave until they pull a new pair off the shelf and exchange it for yours. They can order one from FT to replace it, or add one onto their next order. Any store that sells anything would do this if something was missing from an item. If they don't, walk 10 feet away from the register, turn around, and come back and return the boots. Then walk over and buy another pair in a new box, and kick them in the nuts on the way out.

Having worked on a retail sales floor for 8 years as a boot-fitter, I have seen 2 maybe 3 boots that were shipped missing a major component. I would say it's pretty rare.

definitely rare but it does happen.

this guy should go talk to the store owner or general manager (if they have one) directly and politely explain the situation. FT should be able to send out a new boot board with little to no problems.

to be honest, the shop should be the one calling up FT and getting the problem resolved for you. pretty bad customer service on their end if you ask me. if they still dick you around, simply return the boots as exchange them for another pair if they have one.

if they still insist on not helping you out, call FT and speak directly to their warranty coordinator and again, politely explain the situation and tell them how the store is refusing to help you. they should be able to help you out.

Everything you should do has been said. But if after it's all said and done you still haven't gotten any love from the shop post up the name so that we know not to shop there.

We're sorry this happened! It is interesting the shop told you to personally contact us. Normally if you have any issues with any product (especially missing a part!) the shop should be helping you out with solving it. http://fulltiltboots.com/support will get you in the right direction.
