How the fuck do you defend this? Do you honestly think catholic people are that narrow minded? Trust me when I say all catholics who hear of this are as disgusted as you are.
I don't understand why they don't get rid of the abstinence vows for priests by now. Shit hasn't changed, priests have been doing this for too long, and they scratch their heads and go "huh, why do we keep attracting people like this to be priests?"

and HIV? people go to jail for that stuff. hiv can seriously harm a person physically and mentally. i couldnt imagine what a persons life would be like with that disease. especially if that person was a victim of pedophilia. shits messed up man.

Sorry, that post was unwarranted and totally unnecessary. Using a Catholic priest's actions as evidence that there isn't a god is dumb, yes... but applying them as evidence of the hypocrisy of the propaganda machine that is the Catholic church isn't.

It's a shame, though... after all, ignorance is bliss...

EXACTLY.. I never tried to protect the catholic church, its a pretty fucked up organization in some ways that has caused a lot of pain around the world. However the catholic church again does not equal christianity as a whole, and christianity does not encompass those that believe in God. So I was simply stating that it is dumb to make the connection between one catholic priest and all "those that believe in God".

No, definitely not in my opinion. I don't believe one man has near the knowledge or purity to have any connection at all with God. There may be preachers, who preach their understanding of God, but they have no closer connection with him than the rest of us

Priest aren't chosen by god. Priests are chosen by the bureaucracy of the catholic church. Do you honestly thin god would appoint a child molester to spread his word. That would be like a cop hiring a drug dealer to teach a class about the dangers of drug use.
