ITTTSSSS BACCCCKKKKK!! Due to popular demand we've decided to bring back the video contest! I hope that now that it's summertime everyone will be able to find some time to get out and shoot. Here are the rules to refresh everyones memories:
1) The contest is open to all NS members, be they orange, red, blue, pink, or green names. Pros and no-names are welcome, competition brings out the best of people's abilities!
2)Filming/editing round will last for three (3) weeks.
3) Videos should be no longer than two (2) minutes long (its fine if they aren't that long too!). Videos posted longer than that will be excluded. Video/links to videos should be posted in initial round thread. Please upload all your videos to Vimeo (recommended) or Youtube. We encourage you to go out and make new videos for each week and not post a previous work. It is hard for something you have already done to meet the topic explicitly.
4) After the initial three weeks, videos will be posted into a public voting thread to narrow down to the top 5. this voting will last for one (1) week.
5) After the final 5 are chosen, a panel of five (5) judges will choose the winner
6) This panel of judges will consist of the previous week's winner, and four other guest judges
7) Each judge will rate each video from the one they think is best fit to win to least. Things judges will consider are 1) relevance to the topic 2) creativity and 3) quality of the work
8) Each winner will NOT be allowed to participate in the next contest, but WILL chose the next topic, and be a judge for the next round
The first topic to discuss will be: YOUR HOME TOWN
Everyone lives somewhere, be it a bustling city, a small rural town, out in the middle of nowhere, or something in between! This contest's topic is designed to get you out and about to show us where you live is all about. It can focus on the town as a whole, or a specific part of it, like your house, neighborhood, favorite store or hangout spot, or a popular tourist attraction.
I hope everyone that would like to participate can! Now time to get out and start shooting! Deadline for videos is JUNE 15th at 11:59 EST!
