A flatspin is a rodeo that only goes partially inverted. Ie. your feet go higher than your shoulders but never over your head. See TJ Schillers "rodeo 540" trick tip on youtube for an example (he's wearing a light green polo)
A bio is the opposite of a cork. Its where you spin while leaning forward, skis pointed back at the jump. Can very easily turn into a misty if your feet go above your shoulders. See most of Bobby Browns switch double misty 1440s for an example.
A flatspin is a completely different rotation. Your feet never go above your head, your back is parallel to the ground and facing the ground. It is basically a lincoln loop, but you are lying on your back. Alot of people think they are doing flatspins when they are doing rodeos, when they aren't blatantly almost upside down. For example, a kangaroo flip is a double rodeo, not a double flat like almost everyone calls it.
A bio is a cork, but leaning forward. Alot of people go misty because they through it too much forward.
But a flatspin is nothing even close to a bio, the rotation is completely different, and your direction of lean is completely opposite.
A true flatspin should look different than a true bio but everything gets mixed up and miss named so I agree they do look very similar and are almost interchangeable after a 7. But a flat 3 or 5 looks nothing like a bio
i hate arguing about tricks, but what you are saying is completely off...
rodeo is basically inverted flatspin. rodeo 3 would be the same as a lincoln loop.

"Flatspins are very close to rodeos. They are thrown almost the exact same, but the difference is that in a flatspin, the rider never gets completely inverted"
it's all in the difference in how they are thrown. they indeed can look very similar but a flatspin will be more flippy as a bio will be on a bit of a diff axis and is spinny.
all in all they're both just flippy spinny things names are just a technicality
Based on those videos a flat 7 is basically a flat 3 + one more rotation. In a bio the off axis-ness is carried through the whole jump. Biggest difference is bio is thrown forward and flat is back.
Sorry I can't take you seriously if thats your argument. Apparently you only know what 1 of the flips was, the other 3 you have no idea.
I'm accepting the argument that the difference between flat and bio is that in a bio you spin the entire time off axis(Example: Flat 7 you go off axis for the first 3 then get back on axis for the last 3).
i saw this one shot of something as close as you get to a bio 3 in a edit of a dude shredding either breck or key. it was pretty gangsta, and from sometimes this season.
major props and karma to anyone who finds the vid
