McDonalds a Good First Job?

do it. since you're 15 you won't be able to do some of the work. (grill, some other stupid shit.) The training is good, and if you have friends that apply and write your name down you get a bonus.

sure  some people will hate on it, but they most likely don't have jobs, and therefore have no money.

I would completely disagree. Working as a dishwasher in a real restaurant will give you much better real kitchen experience. I was helping with prep work and learning things from the chefs very shortly after I started washing dishes at a restaurant. This stuff has paid off bigtime now that I'm on my own and cooking for myself. Dropping frozen fries in oil and grilling frozen burgers will give you no real life experience outside of a mcD's. I learned how to make hamburgers, slaws, homefries, omelettes, soups, cook steaks, and many other foods from my time as a dishwasher. I had a pretty cool boss though, and i'm no moron so he moved me around the kitchen a lot to help out.

it was my first job, I got it around the same age as you. yes it is a good introduction to working, it gives you a good work ethic. don't be fooled, it takes focus and practice to work effectively and quickly. i don't know if it's just my mcdonalds, but the training is certainly not the best in the business - i was trained for like a day, and then i was turned loose and only helped when i asked for it. you get good teamwork and organizational skills from it.

ive never worked there, but they have excellent training, which is something to put on your resume for future jobs.

yep, it's pretty chill. i work at the one in UBC so nobody actually takes shit seriously there. i often show up to work baked and nobody notices or cares
