already mentioned above,

but i have a sector nine bamboo pintail, it's a very basic board and everything is standard (except the bearings have been changed because they wore out)

and it's a great board, especially for your first board you can't really go wrong, just find yourself a nice big stick with a good flex and give it a go :)

I think boards like this, in the lower end price class for longboards, are excellent for beginners, later on you can still invest in a loaded or something else, but a beginner sector nine will give you a feel for it and will be tons of fun without raping your wallet from day 1 :)

go to a store and try some boards out, i tried several sector nines and eventually went with the uluwatu/pipeline bamboo board because it had such a nice flex and camber ....

Honestly, buying an "entry level" longboard or a pintail is the STUPIDEST THING EVER. they are no easier to ride and you will surpass them after a week or two of usage.

Honestly, go to www.skatesonhaight.com and pick up a Dervish or something for cheap. You won't regret and won't have to spend an extra 400$ down the road to buy a second board.

i love my loaded deverish but... its a bit pricey i recommend an arbor i got one 2 years ago and i still ride it quite often also they are not expensive boards, but pretty good quality now for a loaded the usual price you are going to pay is about 250-350 for arbor 125-200 dollars. if you are going to buy a board shop around the internet personaly i like http://www.daddiesboardshop.com/ they have good prices.

this was my first board.

this is the one that i primarily ride

excepet with yellow wheels.

price in this market matters alot.

true that, if your looking for a great board go with landyachtz, loaded, or rayne. personally for downhill i think landy makes the best downhill board out there, along with sliding. for freeride go with loaded, and for a mix of both go with rayne

landyachtz switch 37. I just got mine the other day and its a great board, carves really well for a dropped deck, pushes easy as fuck, and can still bomb massive hills with little to no wobble. Once you get a lot better its also a good board for freeriding, slides, standups, etc. Overall a great compact board that can still rip really well. Is a tad heavy cause its 9 plies of canadian maple.

I dont understand what the hate is all about with sector 9, I mean yeah they aren't near to the quality of loadeds or landyatchz, but for a budget board, mine has lasted 3 summers so far, and is perfectly qualified to have fun on the parking garages and hills around Ottawa (where Im from), and hold it down.

Pretty much, if you have the budget, get a sick board, but if not you will still have a ton of fun on a cheaper one

i am not sure if it will work with these because of the size and because it uses a spring in stead of a bushing. you could cut a bigger hole in your board to accomodate for the different size of the truck but you still need to be able to separate the base plate from the rest of the truck

might be worth it if you really like their trucks. having a drop thru set up basically makes the board more stable at higher speeds because you have a lower center of gravity. it also makes it easier to push since your foot is that much closer to the ground. i say go for it!!

On second thought, maybe I'll just get a dropped platform. Gonna save up this summer though. S10s on a dropped platform will be amazing... no more speed wobbles at 30.

I'm 6 foot 155, and its fucking awesome. Its my first board, but I learned to slide this year its its still awesome. I've never taken it on a huge ass hill because we don't have any, but I've never got speed wobble once, and my trucks are pretty damn loose. Carving is the best on this board, it would be hard to beat.
I'd say out of 10:
Carving: 10
Sliding: 8 (I don't have the best wheels)
Cruising: 9 (Its low so you don't have to kill your leg pumping
Bombing: 8 (On smaller hills, it seems to have a speed thats hard to break until you get to a bigger hill, but its pretty fast)

I'm a little biased, but you can't beat the price and its been awesome to me, this is my second year.

I was thinking a time machine, since I do cruise a fair amount. What's the main difference between the two? I assume the time machine's a bit better for manuals, shovits, and other flatground shit, but is there anything else?
