Explain to me how its not?
Your income is your income, no one else's business. Maybe its coincidence, but the only people that have ever told me what they made i:
a) didnt ask them for that info.
b) felt like they were bragging about how much money they make to compensate for how much of a social fucking loser they are.
c) made more then them.
just cause i make more then you dosnt mean im better then you, and just cause i make less dosnt mean your better then me.
for a young guy straight out of school i do well, very well, better then all my friends, except for one, who was so persistant about telling me his annual income as if to say fuck you youre not as good as me.
he asks me what i make alllllll the time, almost everytime i mention work. i dont make as much as him no, and i have told him that, but i have never gave him an exact number. what would it prove if i did?
the way i feel isnt necessarily right, and it dosnt apply to everyone, but it does apply to me, my family, and my beliefs.
in my opinion, its kinda like someone showing you something new they bought, and the first thing they tell you about it is how much it costs. i dont give a fuck what it costs, i didnt spend the money on it. you bought a new porsche, oh it cost you 100k, your awesomeeeeee. if i really wanted to know how much it costs i would have asked, or i would have fuckin looked it up.
i just think its a really douchey way to try to impress people by telling them your income. i would rather try and impress with my characteristics as a human being rather then how much cake i take home every two weeks.
and i think too many people try and position themselves in society with a on par social class dependant upon common incomes. i make$5 a week, you make $10, does that mean you and i cant be friends? we cant go to eachothers homes, drink beers, watch sports, play golf etc?
what if you made 100k and i made 50k? can we still be friends?
what if i made 200k and you make 30k? do i make too much more then you to the point that we can no longer get along?
too many people try and personally rate themselves by the money they make, and normally i find its to make up for a lack of potentionally many other things.
dont have any friends? fuck em, i make good money. never finished school? who cares, i make 100g's. stuff like that.
not only that, but if you really, and i mean really already understanding and apprechiating the value of a dollar, and you were so desperate to know how much someone made in the first place, you could probably peice it together yourself. nice homes, cars, things in general, dont grow on trees.
does that make sense to you? cause your logic as to not understanding my logic escapes me.
