So... A cat just found it's way into my building...

A stray cat just found its way into the building. Dont want to really turn it loose, because then it might either A: come back or B: starve and die or something.

Animal control isn't open till like 10am tomorrow and its 4. lol

Poor things not happy. what do i do?

Give it some ham or something like that and a bowl of water (NOT milk) and lock it in your laundry. No need to keep him in a box or anything like that. You just don't want to catch anything from him if its a stray.

If you like the cat why don't you take him to the vet, get him vaccinated and keep him?

One time I had some friends over to go jibbin in my backyard, I went out the back door and let my dog out, My friend went out the front door and saw another retriever outside, so he put it in the house thinking it was my dog. An hour later we go inside and this dog is running all over the place freaking out and shitting on the carpet.

yeah just take it inside if it wants to be and give it some benign food and water, and maybe some blankets or towels to sleep in or something. then maybe take it to the vet for shots and whatnot?

you should probably just keep it for the night, or give it to a friend who has a cat so it can use the litterbox or something.

a couple days ago at school i was walking to class and outside one of the front doors to the school there was an orange cat sitting outside. i walked over to the door and it shrieked at me. me and a friend tried to get it to come into the school and walk around cause that would be funny but it just stood their and meowed at us. it looked pissed off.

two stray kittens showed up in my garage a 5 or 6 winters ago, which is strange because we kinda live in the woods and have no idea where the came from.

we ended up deciding to feed them, but they were skittish for a while - they would leave for a few weeks at a time and then come back. eventuallly one of the cats never came back, im assuming a Fisher got it. and then the other cat stuck around more often and we got it neutered and got it shots.

now its pretty much our full time garage cat

i dont like cats either - but heres a pic from our property

just you wait...it will be back.

our cat died and like 1-2 weeks later a cat showed up at our door so my mom fed it a bit and it kept on coming back for like 5 days and then it disappeared for 1 week and showed up at the end of the week drenched and cold so we let it in. We have had her for about 2-3 years and shes had 3 batches of kitties and 1 more coming. She is like the most cuddly cat ever, once you pet her your fucked she will annoy you until you dont stop petting her. She was like 5-6 weeks old when she showed up. she looked like this

i have two cats who were part of a feral colony. they were captured when they were 2 weeks old..one weighs 14 lbs and the other 15 lbs. all muscle. fucking huge

My dad's old cat was 25 pounds, i miss fatty :(

My cat Sushi is 22 years old, last wednesday we thought she died. At like midnight my mom went to go to bed and the cat wasn't there, or anywhere in the house, we thought she went somewhere to die. Turns out she somehow escaped and walked 2 blocks to a park where someone found her and took her to the pound. She's 22, it probly took her 2 hours at the rate she walks to get there.

I have a dog, when i was a kid, my friend always had kittens and we would make them do backflips and stuff. Coolest kittens ever. still dogs are better.

exactly, my cat is personable and shit and will hang out but i dont have to worry about taking care of it, or making it shut the fuck up when it's barking its dick off cause, god forbid, i have people it doesnt know over to the house

i love dogs too, just slightly prefer cats, i just think it's so weird when people are like "theyre stuck up!" im like are you talking about cats in real life or cartoon versions?

Having a cat is basically having a rubber toy in the corner - it fares on its own... so what's the damn point? I always feel weird about the "I want a a pet I can leave alone" like whaaat? As if you can't leave a dog alone, and why the fuck do you want a pet if you just want some creature to hang around randomly (outdoor cats)?

haha i dont know any cats whose behavior could be compared to a rubber toy in the corner. and no, you cant really leave a dog alone, not a big one anyway. they need to get out and about for exercise, they need to eat, they need to shit etc. cats do too but they can do it all on their own much better

and it's not like i dont want to see my cat. i just like that i can chill with it when i want and it can entertain itself when i dont want to. big dogs are like having a needy girlfriend, they can't do anything without your assistance

I just thought of an extremely good reason why domesticated cats are not cool. They're a non-native exotic predator to endemic native species on almost every continent and many islands. Domestic cats are responsible for the extinction of at least 33 bird species along with reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals. On islands like Hawaii, the Channel Islands, New Zealand, Madagascar, etc. etc., cats have played a HUGE part along with rats and feral pigs in severely declining the populations of many native species. I can give you a hundred specific examples if you want to know more, but I'll leave it at that otherwise.

Moral of the story: Keep your cat inside. Having an outdoor house cat is VERY irresponsible to the ecological world.
