Photography Style Adaptation

For a photography project I need to take an artist, genre or concept and basically make my own pieces that show a clear influence from my topic. Basically I need to take an artist, genre or concept and take a convention from it and put it into my own work.
I am running out of time and am quite stuck for ideas. If anyone has an artist, genre or concept that they think would be fun or cool, please let me know.
Thanks
+k of course

I'm shooting digital. As of now I'm thinking to take photos with the influence of Ansel Adams.
Thanks for the advice!

Awww you can think of something more interesting than that! Ansel did tremendous work for the technical side of B&W photography, but I can't really think of how you would emulate his style without just ending up with a bunch of humdrum landscapes.
Personally, I am influenced most by things outside of photography. I can honestly say that Francis Bacon and Joseph Conrad have impacted my work more than any photographer...the only photographer I really follow is Chris Anthony.

I'd love to be able to get a little more creative with this, but I really just don't have a lot of time at this point. It's just a school project, for a teacher that really doesn't have high expectations. I can save some of these other ideas for my own time.

I'd say do William Eggleston. Just use color as a subject in your work. Think about color contrast and color harmony. I'd say shoot in on some really saturated E-6 but if you're running out of time just try to emulate it in photoshop.
