So my girlfriend's dad is an alcoholic, and the parents just got seperated. This weekend, he was gone for 3 days and when he came back, he told them that he had gambled away all of the money, literally all of it. They don't have a cent in their bank accounts because of him. Earlier, maybe 7 or 8 years ago, he had gambled away all of the money in my girlfriends bank account, and after that, the mom had seperated the bank accounts and made it so that he couldn't access any of them but his. So i am wondering if there is anyway to sue him or make it so they get at least some of their money back? Anything would be great at this point, she is pretty down about it. She doesn't have any money to go to college and either does her brother.
