Video test glidecam + T3i

first test with my new gear. i have to adjust the glidecam a bit.
second, when i do a slow mo on 1080p 30fps, it does a bit of ghosting.... how can i avoid that ??
using sony vegas movie studio 10 platinum

if you want slow mo, shoot 720p60p.


and you glide cam didn't seem balance or it was like you weren't holding it right, it shouldn't rock like that

i don't use vegas but it's probably doing that because of frame blending. if you can somehow turn that off you won't have that problem. but your slow mo won't be as smooth. if you're going to be doing slow mo, you're better off just shooting at 720p60p and conforming to 24p in my opinion.

Shoot on 720 at 60fps. Your background is too complex causing twixtor to shit itself and You should adjust your exposure settings b/c it's really overexposed.

yep my glidecam is not perfect and my friend suck at filming (i was doing the stunt) and yes when i had my gopro i was going for 720p 60fps. im gonna do the same thing then ;)

oh word you were the biker haha tight. the glide cam is tricky, especially with light cameras, but as soon as you dial it, its amazing.

you're gonna have to adjust to every situation every time you shoot, most people try to stay 1/60-125 but i tend to try to keep my shutter at 250 and then adjust aperture and nd filters to balance it out. Unfortunately, you don't have ND filters (unless you buy some, which you should) and drop your iso to 100 and then set shutter speed then expose with aperture, or vise versa.

Try adjusting aperture and iso as well. For aperture I try to keep it around f/5.6 and with iso You want to keep it as low as possible. The higher your iso is, the more gain you get. You generally start to get gain after 800 on a t2i/t3i. All of these functions effect your shots in very different ways and I would suggest reading up a little on manual settings before the next time you shoot.

Given that you were shooting with overcast, colors were fine. Just never use twixtor that much in an edit.

I dont think you are setting your settings right, i could get better footage from a handycam.

like heath said, iso 100 shutter around 250 and let your aperture varie.

Did you figure out how to turn off the ghosting? Switches-Disable Resample. And color grading is in the program, not in the camera.

first off, if he was running/walking, i would actually say the gliding was decent. angles/colors/exporting can use some work.

secondly, t3i has the inbetween isos (unlike the 7d/t2i). keep your iso at 160 at all times (unless shooting lowlight, in which case remember to keep it in multiples of 160).



and lastly, it is a general rule of thumb for dslr users to double their frame rate to find your native shutter speed.  so, shooting 60fps=1/120(125) , 30=1/60, 24=1/50(60).

ok ok good to know !!!! learned alot since yesterday with your posts guys!  btw, i was running and my glidecam is not perfectly balance so thats why it goes up and down for no reason.
