Rawing Poles (Striping the paint of them)

Has anyone ever tried it, i have some poles they are boring. I know cool story right? So im thinking of rawing them. I was really into bmx last summer and would raw my bike once every month. SO the thought of rawing my poles came to mind.

Personally, unless you have someone legit re-paint your poles they look gay.
so why not raw them.

so, question?
- has anyone tried it?, did it work?

1) re-painting your poles does not make them look "gay". unless its rainbow colours or maybe fairies and unicorns.

2) why do you insist on saying "rawing" over nine thousand times like it makes you sound like a cool dude. *newsflash* it doesnt.

3) suck it up and figure it out for yourself. be an individual. make mistakes. learn from them.

Why spend money to get a super nice paint job that's "flashy" and "interesting" when they'll just get scratched up anyways, but if you must just raw them, throw some tape in different designs on them, then spray over them.

my most expensive pair of poles was 5 dollar in the salvation army....

even just having painted one pole would already exceed that cost ....

that being said, my project this summer, remove all paint and handle on the poles, tape off spiraling upwards, then spray black, remove tape, spray clear varnish, so you get black poles with an alu stripe spiraling upwards....

then get some bike grips or cool pole grips and put em on :)

i have like 5 pairs of little kid poles in my basement from when i was like 3-9 years old. whenever i break a pair i just grab a new pair, spraypaint em black (sometimes with purple or gold stripes using tape), and slap some tiny stickers on.

free poles, extremely light, doesnt matter if they break, and still good quality.

but i did get a pair stolen this season (from the top of my park when i was filming)
they're black with a red NS sticker on one so if you're on NS fuck you and you know who you are.

check out some of my pics... i have 2 pairs of poles (1 park, 1 all mountain) that i rawed and then custom painted and just put a bunch of stickers on them. in my opinion the look of your poles doesn't really matter that much. just get like plain black poles and add some sort of stripes or stickers or something.

Electrical tape and a couple stickers. All of a sudden rental poles are now my personal poles.

go to the local hardware/auto store and buy aircraft stripper. its in an aerosol can. follow the directions, WEAR GLOVES, not just shitty latex ones either. the shit is gnarly and will make ur skin burn. do it outside, but not in the wind. itll make ur throat and nose burn if u breath any of it in.

the paint will shrivel up and u can just wipe it off w a rag. throw away the rag. rinse the poles thoroughly w water.
