Simon Dumont's broken halfpipe idea.

In the mind of Simon Dumont an idea has been germinating for about 6 years and finally today it came to fruition and completion. With the support of Red Bull, Snow Park Technologies and Squaw Valley this halfpipe was beyond even what those involved had imagined. Obviously you'll be seeing a lot of coverage in Freeskier and in Poorboyz Productions next movie over the next few months.

In the meantime, here are a few teaser shots to wet you appetite. Special thanks go out to Simon for allowing us to shoot and to everyone involved from Red Bull, Snow Park Technologies, Squaw and Poorboyz.

Today was crazy. They're actually filming the post-interview right outside of where I am working right now haha. Anyways, i have a couple of questions that i don't think many people will be able to answer besides those who were up there at the session today...

Why is Mack Dawg filming with Simon?

Were there any other riders there? I think it might've been just Dumont.

I overheard one of the filmers saying that they were filming today for a Red Bull commercial. Whats this about?

Either way, today was sick and ridiculous to watch from across the way.

Well I think that maybe Mack Dawg is doing the filming for Red Bull because they are a local company (out of Reno.) Poor Boyz was def up there though.

Mack Dawg isn't filming with Simon, they are working on a show for the discovery channel about the SPT crew, and since they were the ones that crafted the whole broken halfpipe, they wanted to include the shots of Simon actually hitting the pipe. Also, Dumont was the only one.

It is a fucking massive expenditure.

You have to build a full pipe. Has to be exclusively snow. Then, you remove chunks of it.

Shit, Crichton was doing pipe transfers back in RFA. This is just a pipe transfer followed by more pipe transfers.

this is probably the coolest pipe design ive seen besides the pipe foam pit shaun white made i really am not a fan of him but that was pretty badass

I'm sorry but this isn't innovation at all. Gunstock used to build their halfpipe like this 10+ years ago because they were lazy as shit.

Though you couldn't actually gap from one to another since the walls were poorly hand cut...

Im pretty sure this didn't happen but I swear watching either a sb or a skier transferring from one side of a pipe to the other but I don't think it actually possible

I though Mack Dawg stopped filming after Double Decade and Kurt Hiene went rouge. Regardless that is a sick remix of Crichtons 2004 transfer. Simon gets points for this after whining about not going skiing a couple weeks ago.
