THE MOST BUTTERY SKI?

So i have around $500 and i really wanna buy a ski that i can just mess around and do crazy butters on.
I wanna take this ski all over the mountain on hardpack days so it really doesnt matter whether or not it has rocker. So i want to know what the softest most buttery ski is. Anything softer than a Lizzy or EP Pro? Im close to buying lizzys but i would like some other recommendations since the lizzy is so short.

i'd think domains would be good as long as you're not a lightweight. if you can find disorderlys they're soft too (i have them). I think rocker makes butters easier. anthems, punx according to some, probably lots of symmetrical park skis.

ive had anthems and i want something softer.
im talkin lizzy, ep pro hellbent soft, not soft for a park ski (domain)
keep in mind that im only going to be jibbing on this ski (no pow, big jumps, or charging)
anything softer than lizzys or EPs?

I agree anthems have the super sweet butter zone but still ride nice. Some other skis that are super flexy and soft the whole way through don't ski as well.

why dont you guys read? he said he skid anthems and wants something softer, so it makes no sense telling him to pick up some anthems. and he wants a park ski as soft as EP pros. so the halos will definitely be alot stiffer than teh EP pro. i suppose the atomic urban punx from 08/09 and the joystick ski of this year are the softest ski along with the lizzies, that is aimed at park skiing.

i've got some super old rossignol scratch blings around 170 that you could almost tie a knot in, they're incredible soft .....

so if you could find a pair....

the urban punx are almost impossible to find, but im pretty set on lizzys anyways and the punx would be way to skinny.

haha yes, afterbangs are the most overkill ski on the market, its beefy as fuck, yet still doesnt hold up to shit, where as an armada AR7 is nimble, lighter and 2x as durable as the a bang.

They definitely are. My walls are way stiffer and way lighter... and more durable. I just don't see why you would have a retardedly heavy ski and still have it be soft. It's just dumb.

Yep, if your gonna make a super soft ski might as well just make a light cap construction ski. (like the invaders.) You should at least be able to have some charging ability coming with the weight of a heavy ski (like the cryponites.) A-bangs are just soft and heavy, worst combo ever.

the k2 press is super cheap and is really soft with a little rocker too. otherwise, nearly anything from line seems like a good choice

Lizzies are the softest ski ever made. Softer than ep pros. The are unbelievable. They make my invaders feel stiff.

I'm just gonna leave this here for now since it seems to fit.
I've been riding the EP Pro and the Lizzie for the last 2-3 years along with a bunch of other skis on/off. Moment Rocker and Abang among them.
The Original EP pro (Up to 2010) was by far the softest, but this years (the 2011 not the Opus) is slightly stiffer than the Lizzie. The Lizzies are probably the most buttery though, just because of how short they are. Abangs are very heavy for their size.
My question is this, I want to go from the Lizzie to a true 90ish underfoot park ski, and I'm not sure what to go for. I loved the butteryness and the feel when turning (they rip groomed as long as its softish) but I want to get a lighter more responsive ski. Thinking of K2 domains at the moment but I'm worried they'll be too stiff (I'm v.light but trying to work on that).

Lizzies are the second butteriest skis I have ever been on. EPs are the first. But only the older EP models. The 2010 model was a little stiffer, and the 2011 is significantly stiffer and has shorter rocker with camber underfoot.

So lizzies, or older EPs.

yeah i am looking to get either EPs or Lizzys but i think that since i will ski this on hardpack, in the park, and all over the mountain it would be better to get the Lizzys. Plus the skinnier waist and shorter length will be easier to throw around and butter. And the EPs would flop around like crazy anywhere other than in pow which would be really annoying.

So im goin with Lizzys /thread

I love moments but they are just too much work/money to get in europe to be honest. I rode Rockers 2 years back but they only had the 181 then and it was too long. I just don't have the money to get them shipped in anymore. Domains seem like a decent imitation?

Punx are comp level park skis. i haven't ridden them, but I doubt they're very flexy. Maybe you're thinking of patents?

afterbangs for sure, that or invaders, plus the afterbangs hold up extremely well to all the beating you will put them through there buttery have alot of pop and are still fine on jumps.

No. Lizzies and EPs are pretty much the softest adult performance freeski out there. Not to mention snappy and playful as shit. If you went with a super soft womens/youth ski, you would probably break them super fast, and they would not be very playful, just not fun.

BTW, I teach on lizzies, and mine have probably seen 100 days, and they still look almost new. Pretty awesome. I have owned a couple pairs of EP Pros and Bacons too. Kinda my thing.

Had Invaders last season. SUPER fun, buttery and light ski. Although I'll never understand why companies use cap ski construction for park sticks. It's not very practical. Sandwich construction is much more durable, just slightly heavier.

I'm rocking A-Bangs this season, and to be 100% honest, they aren't that much heavier then the Invaders. Maybe 1-1.5lbs. And the weight shouldn't matter, the swing weight should.
As for the A-Bangs, they use the same fatty extruded base as the anthems as the Invaders. So this talk about slow bases being exclusive to A-Bangs just seems a little mal-informed.

I haven't ridden them yet this season, so take it for what it's worth. This is all first impression.

Regardless, if you want a soft, buttery ski, Invader, A-Bangs, or Anthems would all be fine choices. Just balance the pros and cons.
