here is my 2cents since u asked: first of all look up some good videos where tilt shift is used correctly (im not trying to hate because I actually like and appreciate this effect unlike some on here). if u are going to fake it, and use it in your video, at least use it correctly (this is more to keep you from getting hated on by the people who dont like it). when the subject was at eye level with the camera, the effect was distracting (drawing eyes to the edge of the frame to see why it was blurry). i saw a couple missed opportunities where it could have been used pretty nicely; mainly when shooting a large kicker from behind, or behind and off to the side. it would give a great miniaturizing effect if used there, and not be as distracting as the other shots.
also, cut the lag time such as when filming a rail stationary - there was one shot toward the beginning where there was a pause before the skier came in and it disrupted the otherwise good flow of the video.
maybe also do something with the colors to make it look more professional (idk what u have for resources in this area so this is just a suggestion).
pretty much other than that it was a great edit! keep working on it, and keep filming!
simply out of curiosity, what camera(s) was that filmed on?
hope this helped a little bit
i was expecting to get ripped a new but constructive criticism is awesome. so i filmed with a sony vx2100 and a gopro. the tilt shift you guys were talking about is an effect called soft edges, which i thought made it more interesting, but i see how it can be distracting too. as far as colors go, i think i just got kinda lazy in the editing, but thanks for the tips!
