I just received a Nikon D70 camera with a 70-300 lens. I have been playing around with it and really want to just know the basics to a DSLR camera. I am familiar with a regular old digital camera, but need help with this one. Post all the help you can give me in the thread.
I would start by reading tutorials online about the basics of photography, or checking a book out from your library. It's much easier to address specific questions than saying "I don't know anything; GO!" haha. Something that's the basics of photography will work - even something for old film cameras as the concepts of shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length are all the same.
I'm not familiar with the controls of a D70 specifically, but I think it has two control wheels for aperture and shutter speed in front of and behind the shutter release (the big button that takes the picture). You use your thumb and pointer finger to roll them either way to change your settings, makes it easy.
