TV question

Im moving into a new apartment soon and i want a nice tv. My friend is selling a 32 inch vizio flat screen. I talked him down from 300 to 250. I have been looking online and they are between 350 and 375 brand new. It is only about a year old. I was wondering if you guys have had any experience with this tv. Also if anybody knows the average shelf life of lcd tv's in general.

we Have one at my house and its nothing special. It's just your average run of the mill lcd tv. I have heard they normally last 5-10 years but don't quote me on that because I don't know if thats true.
