Let's clear a few things up, midwest_rep.
1. I think you read a little too far into his 'it's the cool thing to do.' He was simply stating that this anti-Bush movement is the cool thing to do. There is some truth to that. What is 'cool' is fed to us through media. Whether it's the latest styles, trends or fashions, the media is the beacon for it. Now, what can be seen on most media outlets? Tv/radio/music ? Bush bashing. It's apparent and can clearly be seen in music (punk specificially which just so happens to be 'trendy' these days). It can clearly be seen in television (sitcoms/movies/celebrities antics). Finally, it can clearly be seen on the radio (radio hosts). Now, if you have formulated your own opinions and try to keep yourself informed, then power to you. That is great, and I respect you. If you feel I'm shouting about media conspiracies or have taken offense to anything I've said thus far, then you've missed my point completely. I am simply stating what is popular, what is trendy, and what is evident on media outlets.
2. 'those websites exist because intelligent people are trying to educate those of you that are swayed by the Bush administration..and those who honestly believe it is ok that the US stomp all over 'towel heads' and 'terrorists' . If this is the purpose for the websites, then they have failed miserably. Anyone that 'honestly believes it is ok to kill towel heads' is not going to be swayed by some obvious liberaly biased website. It works both ways; and the same is true for vice versa. If person a honestly believes it is ok to kill a 'towel head' this shows me several things. He is dead-set in his ways, he is most likely close-minded, and he is only going to believe what he wants to believe. No website is going to change that.
3. 'Bush gets his votes from the wealthy, the lower class with less education'. Not true. Bush does get votes from the wealthy, but moreso the wealthy who are business owners. There's a great number in Hollywood, sports celebrities, etc. that are strong democrats. Also, Bush does not get the rest of his votes from the lower class. Look at the demographics from the last election, and you can clearly see that Bush sweeped middle America. But, the areas that he lost in are the strong density areas. LA, New York, chicago, San Francisco, to name a few. All of these areas also just so happen to have the largest #'s of poor, homeless, and low income housing.
4. 'because they are the simpler people who see the world as black and white'. More of us should view the world as black and white. I understand that we live in a 'complex world', but do we really need to complicate things? Why can't we look at things objectively? Right and wrong? Night and day? Truth is simple. Life is simple. It's all perspective. Why is it some of the greatest minds spoke in clear, simple speech? Confucious anyone? I've found that if you try to simplify things, you will see things much clearer.
