ive been wondering about this for a while but are there any big mountain comps for amateurs on the west coast, especially cali, cuz i used to do competitions and thought they were fun but ended up stopping for a number of reasons, but i want to start again but i know my park skills arnt good enough so is there anything like this anywhere

i know there is an east cost freeride tour so i am going to assume there is one for the west. probably in the rockies though.

There's the headwaters runoff every spring at moonlight basin in big sky mt, it's a pretty sick big mtn style comp

Im pretty positive theres a stop in cali. but if not you could just go to the stops in Colorado, Utah and Montana

JFT has a stop in Kirkwood California. Register early, because it fills up super fast. There is also the Tahoe Jr Big Mt Series, which has events at Sugar Bowl, Squaw, and Alpine Meadows. Check out all of these, they're super rad, and there are tons of really sick kids competing. And throwing down some rad tricks off natural features.

If you're over 17, there is the Twisted Sisters Freeride comp at Kirkwood, and there is the Ralhves Bonzai Tour. All are open events, but fun to compete in and watch. Cheers
