It's not worth it if you don't know how to use it, which is the case with approximately 80% of Go Pro owners. Then again, if you have some common sense and know how to set up a decent shot, it's worth it. Just don't expect the quality to be better than the one from a $100 digital camera, because it's not. It's a great toy, but it's more about the mounts and outdoor functionality than about the quality.
actually my mate was filming me surf, we had it mounted to my avy shouvle handle and where stupid enough not to leash it on... big set came thru and then i see him duck diving underwater looking for something, knew strait away that it was gone never to be seen again
my mate told me after that he had taken a few down the back of his shorts photos on it to 'surprise' me when i went to upload the photos after.. guess the lucky person who finds it will get that surprise ;)
I think that this is only true for stills. I don't know of a lot of $100 cameras that shoot in 1080p. Anyway, I use mine every week, even though skiing is over. It's fun to be creative because it's more or less bombproof, so i don't mind sticking it in the river when i'm fishing, which has produced some cool shots. my advice is that if you think that you would use it a fair amount, you won't regret having it.
this happened to me in hawaii but i got super super lucky and found it floating around on the bottom of the ocean like 15 minutes later. i have no idea how i even found it
For half price? Hell yeah go for it. To whoever said the quality is bad... lies. All you got to do is learn how to render it properly.
It's a great camera: Bombproof, can go under water, can mount to many things, and great quality. I would go for it.
