ok,
this is how you calculate how many planks you can get out of a single tree:
you need 1 of these to make a ski
cut it in half, paint the top and glue base and edges to the bottom and you have a pair of skis....
so you just look up whatever tree size is average, then find out how many 2 by 4s come out of said tree....
and that's how many pairs you get/tree
the salomon suspects are even made out of mdf, or compressed wood fibres, so you just calculate the wood volume of a single tree and divide it by the volume of a pair of skis and that'll give you how many pairs of suspects you can get out of a single tree :)
