No one acknowledges sammy enough. Favorite skier ever, most distinctive style, and he charges harder with more spirit than anyone out there. I don't care what ya'll think, Sammy is a boss.

Sammy is next level on skis... But his attitude isn't fantastic. I'm sure alot of the snowboarders were thinking this guy is sick at skiing but when he talks he is a dbag. I would have rather seen Tom Wallisch or Phil Casabon representing skiing at the snowboard super park. They have the right attitude, seem like nice guys and are fairly modest. Sammy was claiming hard and just has a cocky little air about his voice.

sammys attitude is exactly what people who do not ski would expect by looking at baggy clothed skiers who bang loud music. he doesn't have a bad attitude, and i say that because he charges everything as hard as possible and NEVER whines like dumont.

i fail to see how his attitude is bad, he didnt start talking shit back to the boarders, just killed it really hard, and in most segments i have seen wallisch is he spends half the time bitching about how hard skiing is, urban rails, heli-shoots, etc.

kid's one of the best skiers out there but i sort of wish someone a little more mature wouldve been our representative to SB superpark. probably wouldve impressed more people if he had killed it like he did but instead of doing things like holding his hands out for a minute and a half after he lands, just been modest and friendly.

no denying he rips though. flip onto the wall 1 out was so dope

Sammy killed it at that session all while getting hated on (by some ppl).  A lot of other ppl probably would have lost their cool in that situation.  I for one think he represented himself and skiing very well.  Actions speak louder than words, and he did just that.

he's always seemed like a pretentious little douche, so kiesel's story comes with no surprise. he's a good skier, but nothing about his tricks or his style make me say 'wow'. especially after i had to see his triple played on tv 24 hours a fucking day at t line last summer.

Can't stand when he rides into everything with his arms up like he is saying "whattup yeah i'm jumping over rollers and i'm about to do something cool." Yeah, its fun to move your arms around and shit, but the extent to which he does it is retarded.

just something about the way he carves into jumps makes me want to kill a baby. Don't ask me what it is, I don't know, but the arms are a part of it.

used to bug me too but i think he stopped doing them. couldnt stand everytime he did them during X Games and mike douglas would freak the fuck out. "OMGOMGOMG look how comfortable he is in the air just adding that little poke in there for some extra style points, oh so much style"

damn alot of haters here. even kiesel! bet you never even met the dude. one of the nicest guys out there for sure. he couldnt be more stoked on skiing. if your with him for a day youll change your mind. yeah he claims tricks but thats just because hes so stoked on skiing! still stays in touch with all the locals here in portland, hoodriver, mthood ect.

the cutting lines thing idk... sammy will make his point to if he feels its right. like what colby did at joss. sammy was not happy with symms and colby.

Sammy is undoubtedly one of the best. Beat his backcountry skiing....can't. beat hist park skiing....can't. the kid is good at everything and whether you like his style or not, its still unique.

Great ability does not a good person make.

There's so much slack about every single pro, as some people overreact ("He didn't smile at me, what a douche!!") and some people can never be pleased. Every other time though, the criticism is genuine - even this doesn't mean that a person representing the sport should be nice or hunched down on all fours before every single fan or fellow skier. We're all just people and we all have our downsides.

Around 3 years ago Sammy was my favorite skier, then went up the t-bar in whis and since then haven't liked him at all. Some guy did a sick pretzel and I said "That was soo sick" He went off about how pretzels are gay, how you need be unique and just some cocky bullshit. He sounds like an idiot when he talks, listen to his interview at the start. I don't find his style original at all, he's over rated. I think they should have invited someone else Phil, Max Hill, Henrik, who knows but there are a lot of better choices than Sammy.

this. i saw him the other day at windells in the open skate sesh, he was super chill, he just tramped and talked to basically everyone there and was super nice. you dont see that often when someone is as popular as he is
