Dropped Frames in FCP

Are very annoying. I have tried many things to fix it but nothing works. I'm using footage from a 960 go pro, HD go pro (filmed in 720 at 60fps), and a 7d. I've made all the clips the same, apple pro res 422, 29.97 and 960 x 720. I converted the song im using to AIFF. Yet, i still get the pop up saying it has dropped frames. Some clips will play fine, but others drop frames. I'm still new to FCP, so it could just be my lack of knowledge.

I started a new project and tried playing the clips without the song, which so far has been working. But when I put the song in, I get the message again.

Any help would be very appreciated.

In final cut, in the sequence window, select the RT dropdown menu pictured

this might be a dumb question,

but are the dropped frames only in playback while editing? so if i exported it, would they be there or not?

Does the error window say "general error?" Because if so, I know how to solve it.

Is your computer capable of editing ProRes? I'm not sure why you're converting GoPro footage to anything higher than ProRes LT.

Yeah it's capable. I don't know much about compressing and all the different formats. I just saw that final cut likes ProRes.

Are all the source files connected via Firewire 800 or faster?
Trash prefs, repair permissions, and see if the problem persists.

I had sort of the same problem a while ago, it would do that and quit out without saving, because I had my scratch disks set wrong. They were supposed to be set on my external hardrive but they were on my computer, or something like that and it was fuckin it up. So check the scratch disks?

your computer probably just can't handle it, since you already normalized the clips you were on the right path. Back in the day everyone's computer sucked so people had to edit with much lower res footage, then reconnect the edit to the full scale media. So.... take them all to something with even less resolution and size, use the media manager, edit with ease.
