I found this video on Youtube about how lenses are made, really give you and understanding of why lenses cost so much.

It would be hard to get Nikon or Canon to do a video like this because they wouldn't want to reveal their technology secrets and such :(

Exactly. And that's not even counting the fluorite pieces and such in Canon's L Series, That stuff can get REALLY pricy :/
