You will be able to ski again. No problem. I had mine fixed March 24th. Mine had been along time coming and I can already tell my knee will serve me better then it had been in the years leading up to my full rupture.
Take your rehab seriously, do the exercises and don't rush into anything before you are cleared to do it. A setback would be a bummer.
I used my patella tendon to graft my torn acl, and I had work done on both menisci. All in all my knee feels great I am 7weeks out. I have no complaints about how it feels during my day to day life, it is only in PT where they are working the extremes of my range of motion that I feel any substantial pain.
You will be amazed at how quickly your knee will feel better. Right now it hurts because there is so MUCH swelling, as that subsides their will no longer be pressure on the nerves in the area, and in general where the actual repair work happened there is not a whole lot of nerves so it is not that painful once that swelling subsides. ICE as much as they tell you.
Good luck, my doctor has adivsed me that I probably won't need a brace to ski next winter, but that I can elect to have one if I am worried about direct contact to the knee or to have the mental support. Getting through the mental conditions associated with the injury and regaining confidence in the joint is what I hear is hardest. Tons of people have had amazing success with the procedure you just had, so don't be too anxious you'll be fine.
Good luck, be well.
