MHSSC 2011 Thread

There has been plenty of individual MHSSC threads already. So since there is (as of right now) no MHSSC section of the camp thread section, Im making this.

Post MHSSC Session #s. Meet other campers before camp. Also, ask any questions you have about MHSSC, there are plenty of former campers on here.

by adult week there arent very many available coaches. to have the best coaching, terrain park setup and anything you should come in august. Our park may be melted out by then and public would be the only park.

Right, so the adult course is the 2nd most expensive session, has less snow, less stuff to learn on, more heads per coach and possibility of it being over crowded because of the lack of piste?!?

Soooo, $1700+ looks like a good spend right now?!?

Are the schedule's still the same for adult sessions? http://www.mthood.com/freeski.htm

I might as well stress my other concerns. I dont have ski'is right now and will be demo'ing as many as i can to know what i want for the beginning of the season. Is the time of my session a factor on me doing this?

What sort of grouping will it be? How many heads per coach? Do we approach coach's to let them know what we want to learn, get showed then left to get on with it?

Just a couple of my Q's.

Final response.
Less of a terrain park.
Less heads per coach. Not many campers at all.
Not many features as much at all.
Most coaches have left by then.
You will not have a good as session if you go the adult session.
Bottom line go to an earlier august session.

Hey, there's was no hostility in my post. I appreciate all the time and comments. I've just spent allot of money which took me a long while to scrimper and save for the week there. Just getting peace of mind to money well spent. I cant change the date of my session, and the adult one was the only option.

Also, Less heads per coach? Regardless of the amount of snow or terrain there is, surely this is better. More time with a coach will no doubt benefit more than varied terrain as i'm just starting out.

There were other questions and concerns in the post he reply'd "final answer" too. About the rental of demo's.

I hear you man, spending hard earned money and not being sure can suck, sorry man its easy to take things the wrong way over the internet. And to be honest either way you are going to be shredding hood with some cool people and its going to be a super fun time.
Still wishing i was going out this summer.

Geez. Guy I was just saying final answer cuz bottom line you would have a better. Experience at an earlier session. Anyway don't know if k2 will be demoing that late in the summer. And there are no other freeski demos

Dude, I understand what your saying. Just came off a little sharp with the Final Answer comment. No offense intended.

So, i need to get in touch with MHSSC for the demo'ing problem. I mentioned it on the phone to Mike? I said that i was planning to demo as many different ski's in the week to know what i want for the coming season. He didn't think that was a problem.

if you like how they ski then they probably are, there isnt a good or bad ski for camp, its only good or bad depending on how it fits to your skiing

Why doesn't have a handle tow for the lane so you don't have to constantly hike?

Because in order to have a tow, you need a Timberline employee to run the tow, which would cost a lot more, and MHSSC tries to keep the prices at thee most minimum, although it would be nice, even at it's busiest session (5), there was probably at most like 20 kids hiking, and hiking gets you to commit better, and i think i learn better when i hike instead of waiting and taking a tow or chair.

I'd say 5 probably. It'll be a bit more melted out compared to 3, but the weather will probably be better and there will be more people. 3 is good, 5 is probably a bit better.
