Should NS have these?

some other online communities have stuff like spell check and emoticons for posts. Do you think NS should eventually make their way to incorporating this kind of stuff? I certainly think a spell check button would be good for all the little kids who can't spell crap, and maybe sponsorship would get spelled right. Other than that I think emoticons are gay, but there is some cool stuff out there on other sites. what do you guys think n shit?

i think no. imperfection is good. i think it's funny when people can't spell. let their english teachers worry about their spelling. i hope it doesn't make you too angry, after all it's only spelling. as for emoticons, agreed, extremely gay, should never be mentioned again.

Two things. First, spell check is the devil. This is WHY all the little kids can't spell for shit; whenever they're writing anything, they click a little button and it corrects them so they don't have to learn. It's the bane of english teachers everywhere. Agreed, it would make posts better, but I'm opposed to it in principle, as one of the thousands of things contributing to the downfall of society. I weep for the future.

Secondly. I can't speak for anyone else, but if you hate me and want me to leave NS forever, a good idea would be to introduce emoticons just as you've suggested.

Spell check would be nice. There's better ways for NS to combat the epidemic that has become horrible spelling, such as a suggested reading list every month. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the decline in reading is a huge factor involved in the decline of spelling.

I vote yes for spell check.



Freezy deletes all my posts because he doesn't like me, so I suggest you message him to make him stop.

if you need to use emotions on NS remeber the old help file... quoted 'How to express emotion on Newschoolers.com.

1.On any Internet website one of the biggest problems is correctly expressing emotion that can be read with the same meaning as you intended. So here are some guidelines that you can follow to be a bit more understandable.

2.One of the most used things and also most miss-understood things is the laugh, there are thousands of ways to portray a laugh, and we list the most popular and their rough translation.

A.Hehe = eh, kind of funny

B.Haha = that was funny dude

C.HAHA = oh man, I'm pissing my pants

D.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA = I need oxygen

E.LOL = This is not deserving of me typing the extra letter needed to write 'hehe' (also used as higher levels of laugh by some people)

F.Ha = that was supposed to be funny but really wasn't
