Im off to coronet peak in NZ this summer to do a ski instructor course and I was wondering if they had any sort of park there? Any kickers? if so how big? just any info would be great.
It doesn't have a park. At all. It's got some really fun natural terrain, but no man made features to speak of. The Remarkables which is owned by the same company as Coronet (NZ ski) has a pretty sweet set up and your pass should work there aswell (depending on which one you get). If not, you know that Snow Park and Cardrona aren't far away. Both of which have pretty legit parks.
Im doing my course with Peak Leaders and I think im doing NZSIA 1 & 2. Im staying in arthurs point i think so what will be the easiest way to get to Remarks, is there public transport link?
I did peak leaders at coronet peak in 06. Its so sick youll have a great time.
When i was there there were two parks at coronet, and at one point i think about a 40ft kicker so plenty to keep me busy.... of the queenstown places though the remarks has the better park for sure.
Arthurs point to Remarks is a bit of a fucker, as you are right next to Coronet, you then have to get a bus (your hotel has a shuttle I think) into to Qtown, then one to Remarks, prob will take an hour in total. If you have a car, it's actually not bad as you can just drive straight across the basin to Remarkables. When Peakleaders does it's freestyle day(s?) at Re, you get driven there by bus.
Coronet has been over the years turned into the 'family' mountain, so i guess if your only doing your classes there its ok but i wouldn't want to ski there any other day.
Yeah if you can get into QT you have a free bus up the remarks. You would also save yourself a bit of a drive going to Cadrona as if u could score a few free days there...
but youll figure it out once u get there dude, Enjoy yourself mate
