Just got out of the ER

and i learned that i have a horrible stomach ulcer.
i'm not supposed to eat anything for 2 days, just liquids which isn't bad at all but it KILLS and i've been awake allll night. now 6:11am my time and I have to be at work at 9am for a 9 hour shift while hardly being able to stand because of pain.

vent. pointless thread is pointless.

it's a small business and i'm assistant manager. so technically YES i should be allowed time off, however certain circumstances prevent me from getting time off. there are only two other people who are trained to cover my shift (as in opening/closing/keys to the store) but even if they take my shift they can't get the same work done that i can do. also today, both of my fellow employees that could possibly take my shift requested the day off in advance, and the owners of the shop are out of town. so basically if i don't show up then the store remains closed and that can't happen.

it's a candy shop. but it's not an ordinary candy shop it's like THE FUCKING CANDY SHOP.
candy is pouring off the walls basically anything and everything is in that place.
i love my job but stuff like this makes me hate it sometimes.

yeeeeee we gots every flavor. was this a joke? because in boise, id you can still buy those thangs at your local grocery store... I THINK. i havent checked for awhile but i'm pretty sure they're still there. we def have them though and so does any other powell's

bend, boulder, boise and lots of places in cali.

I also just got out of ER, my girlfriend shoved an uncooked peice of spaghetti up my dick and it snapped off. real bummer but im all good now. I should be getting bonners again in 4-5 days

I can sympathize. Just think of it this way... it's only temporary pain and you will recover and be fine. Just your body's way of telling you to change some things.

no i haven't lived in bend or boulder. i currently live in boise, i was just mentioning those places because the shop i work at has locations in bend, boulder and numerous others in california.


i've been to bend and boulder though... when i was a youngin!

thaaaanks guys! i'm feeling better. but i believe it's just the temporary relief from pain due to a substantial amount of medication. either way i'm stoked that it doesn't hurt right now ha

Happened to me in grade nine when I was playing soccer 6 days a week, basketball 3 days a week, skiing 3-4 days a week and all the while trying to keep my grades up. I have never felt shittier in my entire life.

hope you feel better soon kate. sucks being in the hospital. i've spent enough time there these past few years that i know how much of a psychological toll it takes on you too. totally bums you out, especially when you see all of the sick and injured people around. i always found myself thinking 'we shouldn't be here. this isn't right. make us better and get us back out into the world'.

yeah being in there blows. its not a normal thing, i get really weirded out by anything that has to do with hospitals and people being "fixed" it's just a weird feeling knowing that something life-changing can go wrong but then some random dude with some tools can fix it. i don't know, sketches me out and makes me feel very awkward. but that's just me.
