what I wanna know is who is the best gnarshmallower on NS.  jumps, rails, slope, backcountry.


before i make a contest i wanna know if we even have enough people interested.


I was thinking you post 1 run in each discipline, runs are judged in this thread by NS.
points are awarded to the top 3 in every discipline.
I got $14.57 in my paypal to the overall points winner.

anyone interested? if so post up, if not, then i guess this thread will fizzle into the fails of NS.

jibbin would be cooler, but that excludes the mac-ers, i think this would be cool though. personally im the best shmellower on the mountain though.

my first period every day from 730-840 is open/(intern) so i play gnarsh and bloons the whole time. its more of a habit now.

I've worked on Gnarshmallow every day this week. I'm pretty stoked.

When we did the COC/NS Gnarshmallow contest, we told people to to use this method to record their screens on PCs.

I'm not sure what the Mac users used to record. Apparently VLC can do it and there are other free screen capture programs for OS X if you search around.

perfect. sounds like we got plenty of participants.
next is locking down the 4 runs.
first of all to make thing fair we have to pick lines already set in levels. no custom stuff. only thing that you can change is your starting point (within the area designated)

- jump line will be the ski the east 3 jump line. rails on the left booters are a good variety, and the third hit is the biggest out of all the gnarsh booters i believe(correct me if im wrong). starting point will be anywhere under the two ski the east tents.

- jib line is obviously the center line in the COC level. starting point will be anywhere between the weird shaped COC tent, and the 4frnt tent.

- havent really figured out a slope run yet, but im thinking possibly the right side of the COC level. no double flip size jumps, lots of different lines to take, and ends with a quarterpipe. this line i feel will show style the best. and not just spin to win. you have to start under the whistler, NS'ers, or dakine tent.

- backcountry run will be AK, any line you wanna take, just gotta start at the default start spot.

i dont wanna be the only one who decides on what run for what discipline. these are just the ones that seem the most logical to me. everyones input would greatly be appreciated. this stuff isnt set in stone.

would put way too much play in the comp. the only way it could work is if we create a 5th discipline, thats basically an open class. any level, any starting point, move any feature where you want.

would you guys wanna add a 5th one, or is 4 enough?

question is can you stomp a dub 12 after stomping a cork 9 and a dub 10?

put the downloadable version on a flash drive and let the gnarsh commence.
I play every day for at least a half hour probably. when i'm watching tv or a movie on my computer, i get too restless and start playing gnarshmallow next to it.

all right folks, since no one has commented on wanting a 5th open category, we'll scrap it and leave at the original 4.


To keep the confusion to a minimum, Were gonna do 1 discipline at a time.
you will have 1 week to complete, film, and post a run in the specified category for the given week.
making the contest one month exactly in length.


The order for events will be as followed:
Week 1 - Ski the East Jumps - May 16th - May 22nd
Week 2 - COC Jibs - May 23rd - May 29th
Week 3 - COC Slope - May 30th - June 5th
Week 4 - AK Big Mountain - June 6th  - 12th

WInner will be crowned June 13th and proclaimed best Gnarshmallower on NS.


POINTS SYSTEM - Top 5 riders in each category will be awarded points
1st Place - 25 Points
2nd Place - 20 Points
3rd Place 15 Points
4th Place - 5 Points

yeah i was looking at the gaps too, im considering doing 10,9,8,7,6, instead of 25,20,15,10,5. good idea?

humor yourself with music all you want, wont make a diff. its the riding that counts, not the video editing. also slo mo is not ok. runs have to be at normal speed. once again trying to keep things as consistent as we can for this contest.
