I don't get how he is "ahead of everyone" that edit was 95% spinning fast on rails? ive seen the tricks he did in that edit 2 years before that edit came out, so wouldn't he be behind, especially now?

hes ahead of everyone because he watches the "Sunday in the Park" edits from Bear and just does whatever it is snowboarders are doing. not saying thats a bad thing, its sick to see a skiers take on it, but its not that forward thinking when you look at other sports.

Ok, ok, ok. You've all made your point by saying that it's not "Ahead of everyone" like 15 times. I was just trying to show how good the guy is at skiing even two years ago. I mean, come on, you don't see some of these tricks in edits today. What I should have said was "Why Leigh will always be at the top with others in the rail game". You happy?

i love watching Leigh ski. definitely one of my favorite skiers. and i wouldn't say he is ahead of everyone, especially with that edit but his skiing from this year is definitely different than most guys right now. not as much in the air besides his super sick cork 9 blunts and his crazy knuckle hand drags. obviously a cork 9 blunt isn't the hardest trick and most pros can do them (if not all of them) but the way he lays it out is super dope. a lot like Henrik. and his cork 3's and switch cork 5s with knuckle hand drags are soo damn sick. haven't seen many guys doing them. but here's a couple edits to do him a little more justice.

2:13 is an example of something i haven't seen many guys do. yeah i've seen a couple do it but not as dramatic. except maybe Max Hill.



4:25 and 4:30. and all the gap to flats and tranny finds and shit are super sick IMO. snowboarder-esque ya know?



so yeah those are two of my favorite edits for sure. Leigh isn't necessarily ahead of his time, his skiing is just a bit different. he can do "normal" tricks as well obviously but he also finds a bunch of trannys and does a lot of taps and gaps over rails and shit. he's got a lot of variety. dude kills it for sure.

Leigh is definitely doing his thing...Bangers and Mash is one of the best webisodes of the season, and he has clocked some of the best shots this season, but the edit in the OP just wasn't the best representative of Leigh's current skiing. You have to look at Leigh as one of the guys out there pushing shit in different directions. Dismissing what he does, and others, as just biting snowboarding or skating is missing the point.
