Replying to A Few Macbook Pro Questions

So I'm getting a new laptop but I have 2 questions as far as customization goes...

First question:

Is there really that much of a difference between the 2.2 and the 2.3? From the knowldge I have that much more of a processor really isn't going to makethe computer that much faster.. but from what I've read online people beg to differ..

Second question:

Difference between a solid state hard drive and a regular hard drive?
