I really totally agree! This whole season iv'e been riding the 167 Afterbangs, that are as long as me, and SUPERHEAVY. Then, in the lateseason, a slushy day, i just changed the Afterbangs for my old skis, and then i tried the 143 rossignol s3 park ski. It's suuuperlight and really butterish. That one day i learned frontflips, 720's, front 4's of and brittanys. It's was so much more playfull to have shorter skis, and it was a lot easier spinning, doing railtricks and flipping. The only negative thing is that they are not that stable as the longer skis. So i could't jump at such big jumps that easily.
But really, TRY SMALLER SKIS, you learn so much faster with them!
im felling a blade edit dropping soon... In my eyes 177 is the bomb size... im 5'8 and they are awsome for anything you throw under them! the mountain i ride at it is acustom to see 177 as basically every company has a ski in that size
it's all preference in the end (unlss you tall or short, right?)...but I've tried 177's and the only thing I could find better about the 177s is that they made it easier to land (off of boxes too) and jumps....but my shorter skies were better in every other way.... dude, I see your pic from jibfest! I'm from Toronto as well, we should sesh next winter or even some summer setups!!
ill admit 165-166 is good but trust me 171 is better. I ski on 171 armada ar6s and i tried my friends 166 armada ar6s same year and i could tell the 171s were better
thank you so much!!! I am going to go buy a pair of 162's right now! I am 6 foot 5 inches and weigh 250 pounds. Do you think they will be too long?!?!?
yep. i skate and I don't know what you guys are talking about. hitting jumps on these alleged shorter skis isn't much harder, if at all then it is on longer skis. Unless you guys are using the nose and/or tail to start and landing, then it might be. I land right under the bindings all the time from skating, there's nowhere else to land but on your feet. i can see the OP is a rollerblader too. then again, thats just me. i see all NS'ers who start skating say they fall back a lot from landing on skates since there's nothing behind you.
nah yo actually...I hear line makes an afterbang in 155 as well, you should get those, theyll last forever dude! perfect skis for you, in fact i have a pair for sale.
