Burlington Living/ Housing Etc..

Yawn, Good-morning. I'm moving to Burlington within the next couple of months, preferably after summer time and i was curious if anyone lives there already that wants to give me some helpful hints, tips, or anything i should be aware of? I'm looking for a 4 Bedroom house with utilities included, is anyone transferring out of there next year that has one available or where should i start to look? I was looking to maybe sign a year lease on a house so everything is set and stoned and i'm ready to go!

i would start with craigs list. its gonna be hard to find a 4 bedroom place for sept 1 because uvm has already started school by then. good luck

I lived in BTV for 6 years- you need to look for June 1 and Sept 1, as those are the main moving days. The closer you get to campus, the more expensive it is (read: super expensive). Look to either the south end (S. Willard, S Winooski Ave, or in the old north end. Definitely search Craig's List and check out 7 Days http://www.7dvt.com/

Start looking now, as there is less than 1% vacancy rate in Burlington...

Burlington is super expensive for a city of its size and the shitty quality of many apts. I would start looking ASAP if you want to find something decent. I would avoid anything to the north of Pearl Street as that's basically pretty slummy and lots of kids' houses get broken into and car windows get smashed. Look near Maple Street, South Union, South Willard, South Winooski b/c these apts are pretty much the same price as anything else and in a much nicer part of town still with a ton of students around. And plus you can always walk to the ragezone on Greene, Isham, but not have to worry about your shit getting fucked up.

Craigslist. By this time though, you're not gonna find anything relatively close to downtown. Check the south end, definitely not the New North end.

orly? I'd check on burlington apartments or craigslist. but yah most are June 1st for a year, but when some dont rent theyll be up over the summer to start in the fall.
