Subby doo help

Hey so i have a subaru impreza outback sport (subby doo). its a great car, just a little on the weaker/slower side. I was wondering what I could do to give it a little extra pep here and there. obviously im not going to be spending 20k, but I would totally spend about $500-$1000.
