Bad Attendance.

So, this year Senioritis has been hitting me rather hard, i just am anxious to graduate and get out of this town. Ihave been having some serious attendance problems, is it possible for you to not graduate due to attendance? I know people that said they have had over 60 absences to a class and at the end of the year they were graduating along with everyone else, so im just curious if anybody else is in the same predicament?

I do go to school I happen to be in class right now haha, this was earlier in the year during the winter mostly.

some people still walk at graduation but dont graduate due to bad grades/attendance. talk to a teacher that knows your school's policies

I did the same shit.  Had honor roll grades, but would habitually skip lunch and 95% of the next class to get lit and hook up with girls senior year. 

Last week of classes Mr. Hanscom (teacher of the class after lunch) pulls me aside and says "Um, just so you know your overall grade was an A-, but you had 11 too many absences to pass the course...  Anyways, I figured you had a decent excuse so I just erased them."

Here's to hoping you have a Mr. Hanscom.  Good luck dude.

at my school you are allowed 20 sick days and 3 college visit days for seniors. Once you go above that they can make you not graduate. Check a handbook or something and im sure it'll say.

My mom worked in the high school office. I couldn't exactly call in sick when I didn't want to go to school.

If your school doesn't have an LC policy, you should be fine. Of course it's always up to the school...like if you have a really absurd amount of absences, I think they can not let you graduate but you should be fine.

at my school it really depended on who you where, good students who took advanced courses could get away with anything, while others would get in shit for just about anything

It used to be like that at my school when we had an LC policy, but they got rid of it this year so anybody can get away with pretty much anything.

my school is so gay. People have abused that system so much that you can't pass a class if you receive more than 10 absences. Sucks cause I could've skied way more this year.

at my school 20 absences is a fail in that class, and 3 lates=an absence. but as long as you're passing it doesnt matter.

i have about 20 in each class due to school sports, snow days, and skiing

a girl i graduated with missed a bunch of school for no real reason but she passed her classes based on grades. they told her she wouldnt graduate due to absences, her parents threatened to sue the school. Diploma issued!
