Armada ar6 s or line chronic cyptonites?!

I've riden both and both are great skis so you wont go wrong.

the chronic chryps are going to be a bit stiffer and wider so they'll do a bit better all mountain. The ar6/ar7 will also do well all mountain but will be a little more fun in the park for butters and such because they are softer and will have better swing weight and are lighter. Both are very durable great skis.

I would mount either skis dead center but thats just preference. I have my line chronic chryps dead center and they ride great everywhere, but i had them mounted a recommended too and they do turn better and improve float in some pow. Idk which ski to recommend but both are amazing. personally i perfect the chronics

for what it's worth i'd definitely say the ar6s. both will be fine but armada's reputation is more consistent and solid than line's for a reason. the ar6s absolutely rip and as i said recently in another thread, im not sure ive heard a negative review of armadas since they came out, while line's construction and materials used are questionable sometimes

ive ridden 3 or 4 pairs of lines and this winter i was making the same decision as you pretty much and i went with the armadas. i opted for the ARV though (dimensions more similar to the CCs)

Thanks for your input guys i have just one other qeustion ive been reading a couple forums and this and what not and was wondering if the turn is extremely different when you center mount cause i am coming off a terrible pair of skis mounted normally.. which were extremely hard to anything in the park but i managed.. and how do the hold up on the groomers cause of the "family ski trips" at christmas i try to go the park but its more less you have to ski with us so i will probaly be skiing 70% park and 30% groomers/almountain not much POW though..

If the pricing is the same go with the armadas, they are made in austria while the lines will be made in china. If you go with the lines that'll be just lining the pockets of k2 big wigs.

Nothing wrong with building on profit margins, after all that is what business is all about. But do you really want to buy an expensive pair of crafted goods from a country that has no real connection with skiing, at no real benefit to the customer? I don't think it's right.

I would go with the ar6s.

Since you said you don't do that much pow I'm thinking you are from the east.

I still ride my 08-09 Ar6's today and they have seen a ton of rails and urban and the skis still go strong to this day. 1 edge crack only and some top sheet chipping that is known to happen to the AR6's. Armada ski's are known for the durability, so that is a major plus.

Now for groomers they aren't bad. You will have a large radius, but the AR6's have a decent sidecut so you will able to get some response. Higher speeds though since they are softer you get some wobble. They are stiff enough to hold up on 60 ft jump landings. Before my AR6's though I had dynastar slalom race ski's and went from that right to my AR6's dead center. It takes abit to get used to, but soon you won't see your skis any other way.

I would go for AR6.

Correct i am in the east.. germany in fact so its mostly groomers unless we get a lucky day in the mountains.. thanks it looks like i ll go for the armada since they are manufactured like 2hrs away.. and seem to voted the best so far.. but i am still worried about center mounting as i know it will help spins and balance on rails and so on.. but the turns.. i geuss ill just have to get used to it..

I live in Germany as well and ski in Austria. I bought a pair of AR6's when they came out and they're excellent for shredding everything from groomers and Austrian powder not to mention great in the park.

I would go for the cryptonites. I love mine, I am a little biased though because I have a strong hate for Armada.

Mine are mounted dead center than they rip. I took them out on a dust on crust day and they absolutely killed it. The trails were not groomed then it snowed over night so all the tracks from the previous day were frozen and there was a few inches on top, the cryps slayed. I would for sure go cryptonites over ar6's.

I have a 172cm pair of Chronic Cryptonite's mounted at the ski's true center. I haven't skied the armada AR6's but I can give you my input for the Cryps. With a 92cm Waist they handle the whole mountain fantastically especially when you get a dump of snow, they just float. They hold a great edge on the groomed slopes and still have enough flex for pops and butters. I have skied this ski with the bindings mounted at both middle and true center and it handles a lot better mounted at the specified mounting position. For what i ride 40% groomed 40% powder 20% park, these skis really are just perfect for me. I hope they are perfect for you to :)

lol.. You can't butter cryps.. unless you are a heavier person. These skis are pretty damn stiff. They have great pop though. I would mount them -2.5cm true center. Recommended is way too far back if you do any park, but if you are looking for more of an all mountain/park ski, 2.5 back from true is the perfect median. I love my cryptonites. The ONLY thing I have against them is that they are a tad too stiff for me. But I've only ridden them 10-15 times or so and I'm hoping they loosen up just a bit as I ride em more.
