Getting pulled over on a bike...

So, Kenzieann and I just were riding our bikes back from the taphouse in Ashland, Oregon... We rode by some place where a prom was going on apparently, and I guess a cop was around, because next thing we knew, fucker popped on his shit and pulled us over.

Apparently, we had no lights, no reflectors, or any of that other shit that no self respecting biker would actually have on our bikes, and we ran a stoplight going appx 3mph...

Yep. Pretty sick. We didnt get a ticket, but homie walked up to us saying we were being recorded audiolly and videolly (those were his words... I dont even know if they are legit words haha) Anyways, pretty stupid waste of our time yeah?



Anyone else have fun stories of being pulled over by cops on bicycles?

when i was longboarding i had a nice conversation with a cop about skateboarding/longboarding he was surprisingly cool cause his son longboarded too.

Me, my brother and our friend were riding our dirtbikes on the street and all of the sudden this cop pulls diagonally across the street and almost hits my brother, he opens the door and starts yelling at us so my brother who would normally run stops and waits for the cop, at that point me and my friend had left cause we didnt wanna get our bikes impounded so my brother had no helmet on cause he's a idiot and the cop goes up to my brother and was like whats your mothers number so he gives him my moms cell phone number and he calls my mom and is like May'm do you know your kid is riding his dirtbike on the street with no helmet, my mom was like yea, and he got all pissy cause my mom didn't care and he was like do you know we could impound the bike and arrest him so my brother was like uhh how much would it cost to get it out of the lot? lol. So the cop gets pissed at my brother and was like we get  calls everyday about you guys riding on the streets and we have two strokes so they were all really loud and he was like walk the bike home if i see you again your getting arrested. My brother rides a cr 125, the cops insane if he thinks hes walking the bike home so my brother walks it down the block and then just rides away. A week later were riding again and we stopped just to chill and talk to our friend and a cop pulls up and was like could you guys put the bikes away were getting calls left and right today so we were like ok not a problem, it was a different cop but i hate when cops think there all that cause they have a shiny badge, if cops just ask nicely you'd be surprised what people do, so out of respect for the cop we were like sure no problem and put them away, but I hate dick head cops but not every cop out there is an asshole. And i think this might be the longest response on NS lol

my buddy got a DUI for pushing his bike back from a club drunk as shit lol, the cop was a fuckface and just looking for something to pin on the guy.

My buddy got pulled over on a bike for going across a major bridge in the centre lane and also for biking through the drive through and throwing the slice of the burger back through the window and into the restaurant. Both times it was 2 am and he was wasted

yeahhh so there is this abandoned old travelers insurance agency structure by my house and we use to be able to go inside.. and it was pretty sick spot to skate cus they had loading docks inside the facility. you can also go on the roof and do shit up there to. So its like in the middle of a field and some ass hole saw us on the roof. Little did we know they called the cops. So we were biking home..... did nothing illegal at all and we I see some headlights like the cops around woodbury and im like damn cops. So we turn into this place and the lights go on. Shit fuck. They charged us with trespassing and they had 3 other cars there for back up. Gay shit. Mothafuckin cops are gay.

i actually confused my stories and combined two in one there.

the ipod one i stopped to change the song while walking through an alleyway and a cop happened to be there for some reason. he was power tripping and assumed i was hiding from him (i didn't even know he was there). cop power tripped to all hell and i actually ended up in jail overnight with a MIP for that one. fuckin assholes.

the detox one, my friend drove to a party and drank too much to drive home. i got lost walking home at 3am with a dead phone so i stopped a cop to ask for directions (i was in a sketchy neighborhood) and he decided to power trip like above cop and take me to detox and give me yet another MIP. fuckin assholes.

Haha I've only been stopped by park police for that at the park I work at after getting the ok from management. Dude was a total dick even though I had full permission.

A girl that i dated back in highschool, her step father got a DUI when he was riding his bike from the corner bar to his house that was about 4 blocks away. The police man said that he was in jeopardy of falling off his bike and into the street and getting run over.

haha so funny that i saw this thread. I was biking to the auto shop to pick up my dads car. and in vancouver, BC there is a law were you have to wear a helmet. I am not against helmets by all means but theres nothing quite like riding a bike, high as hell, with your hair in the wind. So i was three block to my destination and i come to a side street intersection and low and behold a po9 was just chilling on his motorcycle. Cop waved me over, jotted down my info, and handed my a nice 30 dollar ticket. Fuck.

i bike everywhere and have only been stopped once. It was retarded, i went through a stop sign and there were no cars in sight, except a cop about 2 blocks away. No ticket, but i was late for school.

my friend got a citation for jaywalking the other day near my school. walked across a street to this little convience store that hundreds of kids jaywalkdaily. there was also a couple kids who also where there, but the black one got the citation.

Man, suddenly I'm glad to be in a city where you can ride around all day with no helmet, on fire and with a dead hooker on the back pegs and the cops still don't give a shit what you're doing because ther've got bigger fish to fry. 

I don't know what I'd say if someone pulled me over on my bike lol...

If that was the case, i'd fucking book it haha.

There's no way he's gonna like, run you over with his car or something... if he did thats like, basically vehicular manslaughter.. (plus, if he gets too close... just grab onto the front bullbar and roll along with it a-la reverse marty mcfly)

And because of that, if he got out of his car to chase you... unless you're in mud or some bullshit, you're on fucking skates... you can outrun almost anyone on foot with skates...

man.. if i had nothing much to lose, i'd so have fun with that situation...

New Ashland Cops story from just 5 hours ago...

So, I am in the middle of finals right now, and I got hungry at like 3am while studying. Nowhere in ashland is of course open at this hour except 711, and i was sick of that place - plus they had no food. So I went to AMPM. I drove down there, and i pass a cop as I pull in. He follows my car in as I go inside, paused, and obviously ran the plates (plate since i have only 1 haha)

anyways... he drives off and I think he's done...

I get my food, and hit the road. I'm going like 30, which is 5 under - since I know the cops out there, and I also was not in any serious rush as I was only about a mile away anyways... Cop then pulls out and gets in my blind spot and just drafts me there... for no other reason than to be a dick about it that I could tell. I just resume what i'm doing because I know he had nothing on me.

Just then, an ambulance is goin by on the opposite side of the road. The law states, you must pull over to the right and yield to an emergency vehicle no matter what, so I go to do that, and flip my blinker on and motion, but this cop is being a dick, and A: not yielding to a fellow EV, but he refused to back off to allow me to adhere to the law.

So eventually I just say fuck it, and merge until he finally backs off and pulls over. Ambulance passes. He flips on his lights, and walks up to my car.

L&R.. etc.. asks me how fast I was going.. "5 under.." what are you doing out at this hour? "First of all, that's none of your business, second of all, It's finals week at SOU, and I'm a hungry student feeding himself so he can continue studying for a criminal justice final in the morning" (I'm not in criminal justice, but it put him in his place). Why did you decide it was okay to cut my off just then? "I didnt cut you off, I was yielding to an emergency vehicle, and pulling off to the right side of the road - something you were refusing to do by sitting in my blind spot trying to make me nervous and do something wrong".

I was pissed, and I was giving it to him hard, because he had jack shit on me and was wasting my time completely - that and I know that cops here record everything "audiolly and videolly' (lol) so I figured I'd do a little citizen arresting.

He then got the nerve to ask me to search my vehicle... What the FUCK... "Unless you have a warrent or due cause, you may absolutely positively not search my vehicle... and I don't believe you have either a search warrant, or due cause right now." (even if he did search me I knew I had nothing illegal in the car, and it was just a bunch of dirty garbage inside, and the trunk was full of stinky clothes)

There was a root beer bottle (obviously a root beer bottle at that since the label said ROOT BEER and was facing my window) in my cup holder that I had just purchased at the store. He asked me what it was. "It's root beer, a non alcoholic beverage that is very tasty. Have you ever heard of root beer officer?" (now I'm just throwing his smartassery back in his face).

He gives me my license. "have a nice morning."



Fucking cunt... Now I know what black people have to deal with.

I bike every where due to no money for a car, gas or a license. I'm pretty sure I have never once come to a complete stop at a stop sign, and I rarely do at lights. I dart through traffic, cross roads at random points, hop from road to sidewalk quite often and I have never once been told to stop. Only time I've ever had the cops called on me was for smoking in sketchy places, but we always get away before they come. I feel bad for all the people with nazi cops in their towns.

I got pulled over in summit county, CO on my bike. I had been drinking and had some weed in my backpack and the cop that pulled me over was the K-9 unit. The dog was going crazy in the backseat, I thought I was fuct and going to get a BUI. When he pulled me over, I wasnt sure what to do, so I stopped and put my kickstand out, then got off the bike and put my hands up. He checked my license out, and after everything was all good he told me about some guy who got mauled by an elk on his bike, and offered to show me pictures of the guy. I declined, and told him i would get some reflective tape or some shit. The only reason I got pulled over was because a section of the bike path was under construction, so I had to take the road for a bit, but if I had a light on my bike he said he wouldnt have pulled me over, so if you are drinking and biking home, get a headlamp and wrap it around your handlebars, or something, and they will probably leave you alone.

I got stopped by a cop on my longboard late last night. He told us "you shouldnt be weaving in and out like that, you could get hit by a car" some other general bullshit explanations. He let us off and we skated right past him again on the way back down the hill.

not having reflectors is understandable, but lights are pretty necessary for night riding. they help you see so much better and that way you won't get nailed by a fuckin truck

oh yeah by the way have been choked out after being pulled over on my long board by the City police  in my "city" of 10,000.   one time a cop on a harley-davidson rode though the park to take away my little sisters slackline.
